Dominic Cheek is another SG going to Nova from St. Anthony's
Dexter Strickland is St. Anthony's PG - he's going to UNC
Dion Waiters is going to Syracuse in a year to take over for Flynn - from Burlington NJ
Durand Scott is a SG from Rice going to Miami
pretty slim pickin's though...

Interesting note: there's a Shawn Kemp "athletic big man" going to Alabama next year. Is that one of his 32 offspring?

PG's only dude!!!!!!!

it's tough out there... not too many real point guards to pick from
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Thats the point I'm trying to make though.....the nba isn't the end all to greatness for this city. At one point this city was a city of point guards....even my and just about everyone that stepped on the court in brooklyn had an above average handle.....now its not like that....kids go to the basketball court to play around. Nobody is playing good ball anymore.

There was a time when kids that played for their schools wanted to hit the parks to test their skills.....now its like only a secret society of ball players. Nobody is in the parks....all the legends are deep in their 30's now....all the really good ball players especially point guards are coming from outta state.

NYC is Pussy.

blame espn...haha...

seriously, the lack of interest in passing and team oriented ball makes me cringe when i have to play with folks in the park, because it also leads to losing more, especially if the other team is playing that way.

I used to hear cats talk about Pookie Wilson...Never saw him play.

As far as "The Future"...my boys were talking about him and I wanted to see him so we went looking for the guy and I was impressed. He was doing some things I didn't see before in a tourney uptown.

I knew future since we were 13, we played together in a a few tourneys, along with Carlton Hines, man, we were all so young, never new those guys would be that special... I knew they were good, but boy!! Malloy was always doing tricks with the ball when we were young, he was so much more advanced than us at the age of 13, whenI first met malloy, aka the future, he was playing with the bronx river bucks, when we played them, he destroyed us. I was the best player on my team, and he was the best player on the court.. LOL. I felt at 13 and 14, I was playing vs a 19 year old teenager.. LOL

Pookie wilson.. RIP, he taught me so much about basketball, I used to go to the playgrounds and wait for him to come out, he never took it easy on me, although he was a bit older, he said, this is the only way you will learn... that guy was nasty. Just nasty!!! I remember we were headed to a rucker game, and he said, john bagley( forme NBA player, cavs and celtics I think and Boston college star) was going to be there.. well let me tell you.. Pokie put his foot on bagleys rear end.. He shook 4 years off john bagley.. LOL.. pookie was a monster of a guard... Monster!!!! I can tell you so many stories about that cat....

btw, suny - binghamton (i can't believe they are in d1 and in the tourney) is a team that could start to steal nyc players and some ny players.

they are close to syracuse and cornell (ithaca) too, a state college, and are probably the best academic suny.

i called a game on the radio with them against my old college team back in the day. crazy.

Nah dont remember Billy but do remember the infamous DJ Tut (or King Tut) who pulled his manhood out at a jam in the park & said he wasnt the fastest at scratchin a record but how many mufukkas could do this & then proceeded to use his *$%^&$ to cut up the Chic classic "Good Times".

Maybe I skimmed through this too fast (cause I'm at work) but doesn't this conversation begin and end with Nate Archibald.
