This is one of those "whats he supposed to say" sort of deals. Of course he wants Lebron --- thats the first, second, third, and fourth option. I'm sure Wade or Melo would be good enough consolation prizes, but the point of all of this maneuvering is to come up with a superstar by the summer of '10. Period.

I dont know what the hell that list that NewYorkNewYork came up with. We're doing all this so we can sign Gadzurik, Murphy, and Hinrich? Those scrubs???? Man, wash your face.

It would be irresponsible not to be in the free agent market for 2010 coming from where we've come from. But that is not our only option. Look at the roster, there are some tradeable assets on this roster. This notion that Walsh is only playing for the free agent class doesn't make sense to me. Outside of tanking and going for a number one pick, what could he have done better? Sure there were different options on some of the trades. But if you look at the big picture and compare where we are today to where we were 9 months ago in terms of flexibility........holy crap!!

Your missing my point. He wants Lebron. Thats that. It would probably be the biggest free agent coup in sports history. Of course Walsh wants that. But if Lebron falls through, we will have acquired enough assets so that if a Melo trade is feasible, we can pounce on it. Either Melo, or if another free agent becomes available. But the point is that we have to grab a star.

How am I missing your point when I'm agreeing with you?

No. I have no faith in Chris Bosh as a leader of a franchise.

I don't know about Carmelo. I don't think his mental is built for it. Smells like Starbury 2.0. I feel like he'll spend too much time at the Hot 97 studios with LaLa getting into some distracting BS out here.

so you dont want to pay either? Who do you want on your team? Who is the frontcourt player thats giving you 17/12 on 56% for $6 mill? Joe Smith? Rasheed Wallace? Clarence Weatherspoon? So many easy choices to cheaply replace 17/12 and 56% shooting. You can get that anywhere

I like to see what Wilcox can give you in this system. Something tells me not that far off. His rebounding maybe down but I guessing he will probably make it up with his overrall defense being better. So far Lee's double doubles have given you a 30 something win team, two 23 win something teams and unless the Knicks have one hell of a winning streak, we are looking at another 30 something team. Unfortunately sometime stats don't tell the whole story.

Please elaborate on your thinking...
Wilcox's teams:
Sea 20-63
Sea 31-51
Sea 35-47
LAC 37-45
LAC 28-54
LAC 27-55
Wilcox has played 46,65,54,76,82 and 62 games.

So your replacing a guy that gives you double double every night with a guy thats played on nothing but loser teams AND cant stay on the floor.

Am I missing something?

And is Lee the cause for us winning 30 games every year? Its got nothing to do with Crawford 38% shooting? Or Marbury's wonderful leadership? Or the 17 coaches we have had? Have we been built around Lee for the last 4 years?

I'm not trying to be an ass (that happens naturally). I am trying to get my head around what other people see as the advantage to letting Nate and Lee walk instead of paying them what they are due. I get (and disagree with) the 'so we can sign Lebron' dream. If that 1:100 horse doesnt win whats our backup plan?

MDA isnt playing Wilcox because he cant shoot, pass or dribble... things MDA has Lee doing a lot of.

Who said anything about letting Lee or Nate walk. Sign and trades should be an option if their salary demands are unreasonable. I rate $9mm for either as unreasonable. Also you already have Wilcox. He won't be looking for the jackpot at the end of the rainbow either. Lee couldn't post up for s%%t either when he step on Garden floor but has develop (not much of a post up game but still develop). I am not looking for someone to replace Lee, I am looking for better options to more than give you 30 something.

Hey I understand your logic and I can't say I don't disagree with it but if Walsh said 2010 was the plan and we begin to alter it then where has this organization really changed? Instead of being capped out, you now foolish back yourself in corners and get right back in the same mess. Instead of acquiring the Weatherspoons of the world, we now seek to pay them up and hopefully find an Isiah to trade them after a few years.

Besides I thought you hated the fact that Isiah didn't stick with one plan. 2010 is the plan and unless you trade Jeffries or Curry, signing Lee and Nate to outrageous contracts are obstacles to that plan.

Does Don Nelson still hate Randolph? I think another option is to try and pry some underdeveloped prospects from other teams.
