I will say this though..

If Nash is brought to this team in the upcoming offseason, you can bet your ass that there are more moves coming, because you dont go out and get Nash and then not expect to win and with this roster, I'm not so sure we'd win. I think a few trades would be on the way.

Nash was mvp under MDA and nash is more IQ then atheletisim, so he's going to be in the top 7pg's for at least 3 more seasons.

If this were 2005 I would agree with you fam. But Nash and Stoudamire are on the way down...especially Nash. Arent they out of the playoffs now anyway???

And what kind of conversation would we have been having about Nash's worth, say around '99-'00...Lee and Nate are hitting their primes kid.

i don't think Amare's on his way down at all... the guy's only a few months older than Lee & still has a ton of basketball left in him... the knee microfracture surgery has not slowed him down one1 bit, he's still as explosive as he always was... the eye injury he suffered was a freak incident that could happen to anyone... the rehab will take some time but i don't think that's gonna effect his game whatsoever... in this system as i've said many times before i am positive he would be putting up 25 & 9 easily while drawing double teams down low & providing a shotblocking presence as well... having a player like that in the low post opens up the offense for other players, & if u pair that w/someone like Nash who's a master at orchestrating this offense as he's proven for years, guys like Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari & Larry Hughes would also benefit by getting many wide open looks on the perimeter... i would easily trade Lee & Harrington to get a player like Amare, that's such a no brainer (not that Phoenix would even agree to a deal like that in the first place)

Nash may not have a ton of years left in him, but the guy is in tremendous shape & i think he's gonna be a topnotch elite PG for at least another 2-3 seasons, & after that would still be a productive NBA player for another couple more... i would easily be willing to invest a 5 year MLE contract on him, but like nyk just mentioned, u can be sure that there will be other moves lined up involving either Duhon or Nate Robinson if they bring him on.

u guys wanna talk about what max FA's would wanna come to NY in 2010, acquiring players like Nash & Amare would be a much bigger drawing card than holding onto Lee & Nate, i'll tell u that right now w/o hesitation.

I think Nash has at least 3 good seasons left. I also don't think anyone will be giving him a 5 year deal.

yeah... I'd say 3 years $30-32 mil sounds about right

Briggs idea was 5 years $32 mil. Just think of it as a 3 year, $32 mil contract with him playing the last two seasons for free then.

Agreed, the fact that he's gotta share the post with Shaq has caused his numbers and his stock to go down. That and the fact tha Dwight Howard came onto the scene and took the title of beast from him :P

They are probably not going to pay him in Pheonix--he has a home in NYC and did well under the coach. He probably has a good 3-4 years left in him. He's not a run and jump athlete--he has kept the same weight throughout his career and doesnt need to play more than 26-28 minutes here. There are a lot of + for Steve in NY.

NO BRAINER!!! PG's like Nash are 90% IQ and Court Vision. He's more athletic than Mark Jackson was as a rookie! It's the soccer background. They can run at a good clip all day, even when they get old.

Nash would get more rest here and that would extend his career. GET'EM!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree. this has been the consensus for a while though, no?

the question is what do you do if there's an option to bring him here this summer? phoenix won't do a sign and trade with us, that's for sure. they're still mad about mike.

Suns owner Robert Sarver admitted during a national telecast on Thursday that he could break up the team this offseason, and it appears as though Steve Nash could be sent packing.

There's speculation that Phoenix could use an early termination clause to release Nash this summer. Doing so would save them $7 million on his 2009-2010 salary, according to the New York Post.

If Nash is here, he will start and he will be a starter until his body gives out. End of story.

As for the other talk, I like Lee a lot, but I'm sorry, if we could get Amare, yes I give up Lee, without second thought.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Yeah this a no brainer. Nash wanted to come to the Knicks for a long time and that was prior to D'Antoni. Grunfeld promised back in 96 to draft the guy if he was still on the board back in 96. Then Grunfeld tried to trade for him.

Nash would be great here. You give him the 5 years and take the 2-3 great ones he gives you. I think you bring back Nate at the same time keep Nash's minutes to 30. Nate gets the other 18 at PG plus 12-15 more when they go small.

Nash's last year (next) is a team option. Obviously they would have to let him walk. Its for $13mm

I would seriously consider releasing Nash if I were the Suns.

Start Barbosa, trade Shaq for parts and picks, let Hill go somewhere else and you're back to having one of the fastest teams in the league with a young/cheap core for Gentry.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

if the suns release nash, without getting anything in return, they will lose 50% of their season subscriber base...

Here's a question:

Ramon Sessions or Steve Nash? You can only pick one for the MLE this off-season. Who do you pick? Or you can say neither and wait for the class of 2010.
