YOU WANT THE KNICKS TO FAIL AND I DON'T, END OF STORY
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I want NY to win regardless of what I predict for them. I want NY to be on top always. I think they have enough talent to win 40 games without Dice. The rest depends on the coach. I don't think he or his GM are capable. Let's see what he does. If I am wrong, so be it, at least NY will be winning!
I can admit being wrong.

I would rather be wrong then right about this team with my predictions, all I have to say is Layden and Chaney are bums and it is infecting the rest of the team - throw Dolan in with Chaney and Layden too. I dont see this team doing well with this group running things, I dont care how much talent is on the team.

This team just needs an identity. I mean, I'm sure all of you played on some level. Even if it's just in pick up games in the park. There's usually one or two guys on a squad who, sometimes before the first check-ball, who kind of determine the temperment of the game you're playing. Maybe he's talking alot of trash before he's even hit a shot. Maybe he gives a hard foul. Maybe he dunks on somebody. Maybe he's extra polite, yelling "great pass" and other such compliments when they're not deserved. Maybe he chucks the rock up every chance he gets.
Whatever it is, those few leaders on the court determine 'court personality'. And it may change from game to game. I mean, Ewing, Oakley and Mase used to have even a wussy like Charles Smith thinking he was a tough guy. Archbishop Charlie Ward was actually throwing punches. It had less to do with on the court skill and more to do with court attitude.
I mean, one on one, I put my money on KVH to beat Spree any day of the week. One on one, Allan could take out a lot of league heavyweights, just on pure shooting ability. And this is what I think the problem is with Knick management: they picked their players almost like a fantasy squad, and not like a team of real live, living, breathing people. You often hear about football teams signing vets for 'leadership'. The knicks need someone to tell them who they need to be, expecially down the stretch. Sometimes it can come from the bench-- but it's obvious Chaney doesn't inspire.

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...
