Jennings would be my 1st choice if we draft a PG... if we can't get him then i would try to buy a late pick & take someone like Collison, Mills or Calathes.

RICKY RUBIO!

Hmmm Chad Ford says that Rubio is going to be in the draft. That's not what I've seen everywhere else.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

No more point guards I'm sick and tired of them. We need a big man who is a legit center 7 footer who can block shots and score points. We've been fartin around with point guards for to long. We need a big man.

Hey look! Every contender that will go deep in the playoffs will have a legit big man. This draft is overflowing with point guards. Please Please I pray for a big man. A Center.

Papabear I agree with you. I do think you can find PGs that can play NBA basketball very well late into the 20's this year. The problem is all of the big guys went last year. There really isnt that many guys to get that excited about this year.

We can always go the route of offering our pick to Utah for Koufus who is 7 feet 265 pounds. I don't know if Utah will do it and I think that Dantoni is very guard centric and doesnt want a 5

Koufos was taken 23rd overall in the draft last year, i have to think there are bigmen prospects on his level we can find in this draft by buying an extra pick.

We don't need a monster down low. We do need someone who's more of a presence than Lee though.

I don't want a plodder just for the sake of it.

If we had a 6'9" dude that could run, board, and block shots I'd be happy with that. Maybe it's Patterson. He's been all over the board.

1. S. Curry
2. N. Calathes
3. B. Jennings (I just don't trust these Euro players )

VMart - no way. Curry's a shrimp. Who would you compare him to in the league?

Chris Paul makes Chandler twice the player he is otherwise.

Who's the playoff team with no elite PG?

The PG we draft will have to be a player who MDA believes can be the embodiment of his-MDA's- offensive philosophy. I tend to think that he would want someone who he thinks can run his offense over a guy who rates higher in other areas.

I would think that people should be thinking about how MDA would look at the available PG prospects in this draft, and making comments from that perspective.

Why? Who cares about his philosophy. That's what got you Gallinari over other prospects. Professional coaches come and go. Players normally outlast coaches. For all I know Dolan has a change of heart if the Knicks don't make the playoffs and fire everyone. Or if the Knicks are lucky to get Lebron or Wade, they may not get along with him or like his style after a full season. It's not like that never happen before. A team should never draft based on system of a coach. That's is short sighted. A professional coach should always be able to adjust to their players not the other way around. I would suggest MDA find a collegiate school if he only wants to recruit players that fit his system. The NBA is a player's league.

MikeD's players are athletic players with good range. Is that really going to be hard to make use of if we get a new coach?

I see a lot of Deron Williams in his game. Yes I know he isn't as bulky but he is listed 6'3''. He is averaging a good amount of assists and he can shoot the rock.

He'd have to get bulkier than his dad ever did to be Deron.

I don't know. I think CP3 and Deron will end up winning multiple championships. We need to get one of them or get our own version of them.

To have a PG who can take over games either by their scoring, or by their passing is just an extreme asset.

Curry... he can shoot the lights out, but he's had trouble against bigger guards. Can he penetrate and draw fouls for 82 games? I think he'd be very lucky if he ends up being another Crawford.

Rubio looks like he could be the next Steve Nash (although his shot needs improvement). If he's available, the Knicks need to think about a sign and trade with Nate to move up for a shot at Ricky.

He's definitely the best point prospect, but from what I know he isn't declaring this year

no shot at rubio since he will go #2 overall. and nobody is trading down from #1 or 2, especially for nate.

So you believe that a GM would not ask a coach about a possible draft pick- and that a coach would not want a player who fits within his offensive philosophy?

Does not matter if you care about his philosophy, though- if the Knicks draft a PG it has to be someone he is in love with or thinks he can mold. I don't have a preference as to who we should choose, I just think that if you consider PGs you have to really think about what MDA will be looking for, since it will be someone he will want to develop. I will say this, though- he will take a PG with who is big on the fundamentals, with a high BB IQ (yeah- it is an overused phrase) who is less spectacular but makes fewer mistakes, than a guy who some of you would have orgasms over because of dunking ability or the ability to do a crossover that leaves an opponent on his ass.

I'm sure he can adjust to players he is given, but if he has a chance to voice his opinion on a PG, he is going to be looking at how the guy might play in his system of ball, and Walsh would probably go along with his choice.

Whether or not you believe in his BB philosophy is one thing- I like a more traditional half-court style with some strong big men, screens set for my jump shooters, and a tough D- but at this point the Knicks have chosen to go with MDA, and a person would have to be obtuse if they think that a former PG who is now a head coach would not take a great interest in any PG his team thinks about choosing.

If you're a GM and you're drafting based on your own philosophy versus the coach... you're risking getting fired big time.

You go and draft a big fat dude and he rides the pine all year, the team's going to lose games, and you're going to look like you made a terrible pick.

Doesn't make any sense.

Anybody see this guy Randall for the Cal Bears?

I've watched his game tonight and last night against UCLA and the dude's been dominating. Super quick and has been hitting shots from ten feet behind the 3pt line.

Haven't seen him on any draft lists, but he's damn impressive.
