i found out my problem with limewire - i was using an old version of it. i downloaded the latest one and it's fine - took a while to connect but it's all good. thanks for the info tho.
eny - STFU.
how's the virus risk with limewire these days?
AVG hasn't found anything on my laptop and neither has spybot.
if ur using bit torrent be real careful w/the files u download... i always read the comments for each file from other users before i download
I am using virtual machine exclusively for torrent downloads. When I get virus or spy I am just deleting it and using clean snapshot of VM to start over. VMWare is free as well as microsoft VM. Why bother about protection if you can scrap it any time and start afreash?
Hmm that's a brilliant strategy.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Everytime I used any file sharing program it fried my computer....ares, kaaza, even limewire....3 computers fried cuz of file sharing.
Any advice for that?
download a copy of Avast anti virus from download.com... it's the best free anti virus app i've used yet... better than AVG that i used to use... also do a periodic spamware check using Ad Aware (download from same site)... that combo has worked pretty well for me.
Thanks TMS. I have been looking for a free anti virus software for my home computers. I have been using Norton but I am getting sick of paying them every year.

What about iTunes like a good law abiding citizen?
lol! itunes would be great if they had all music available. remixes of your favorite song? no. however, if i wanted an old obscure song from the eighties made by the go-go's it is good for that.
