Again, but if Hughes falls out of the rotation or doesn't get his minutes he becomes a cancer and we repeat the same culture move as years past

Hughes is impressively awful. The comparisons to Crawford are way off. He couldn't hold Crawford's jock.

You are right about that. At least, Crawford actually could make the bad shots he took and was good for several 40+ games. Hughes shoots shots he has no hope of making.

I like the fact that Hughes was booed and like the fact he smiled in response.

Why was he booed? For missing shots? No, it's deeper than that.

Here is the breakdown of people who booed Hughes by percentages:

Not being in game condition 5%

Taking a shot, regardless of where he was on the floor 35%

Being the first Knicks player to wear a zero on uni 12%

His $13M contract 37%

Missing his first shot in The Garden 67%

Playing for the Chicago Bulls 8%

Hitting the side of the rim 25%

Hoisting a shot without looking at a teammate 88%

In game 2, I was hoping to see Hughes try just driving or just being a distributor, but he won't do it.

The guy will be cemented to the bench shortly.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

What shocks me is that most guys shoot too little when they get traded to a new team. They try to feel their way through the game and only take wide open shots. But not Hughes, this guy jacks up contested shots from every where on the floor as soon as he gets in. If MDA can get him to improve his shot selection, he can be a solid player because he does play defense, but I am not holding my breath on that one.

Its more than his shot selection. Francis had good shot selection. Hughes has Francis' shot and a young Kobe shot selection.

Really great combination... really great.

It's nice that he's a great defender or so I've heard. Every time he's in the game the team is running back because the other team is taking one of his long rebounds and going the other way on a fast break. When do I get to see this legendary defense of his?

I like both pickups Wilcox is terrible from the line but very good energy guy. Hughes will get better, booing him in his second game is in bad taste. What free agents is going to want to play for these fans???

and by the way
i think it's obvious that the hate for Hughes is because he cost us the big game.

One player never loses a game.

who wants to tell him?

Wilcox looks like a great backup for Lee, Hughes shot selection is unbelieably bad and ruins the offense but his D is good

Agreed... Wilcox could really be a super-sub. i think he'd play well with both Lee and Jeffies

He's gonna get better....that's a given. What I can't understand is why everyone is sooooo quick to throw the guy under the bus! I mean damn 2 games and he is already getting Marbury/eddy curry treatment?

He's played less than 30 minutes in 2 games and hasn't started....I mean come on. Someone here quoted Marc Berman and had the nerve to put it in his sig.....others are mad that its taking away from Gallo's minutes like Gallo is playing shooting guard, lmao.....some of ya'll are something else.

What happened to embracing the mofo and seeing what he's got. After a month and a half of not playing ball.....lets give him at least a week to learn the system and get familiar with what the team is doing. Seriously....

Both of these acquisitions are about upgrading the Knicks defense, as is the acquisition of Samb.

To me its more like rounding of the rotation with vets instead of a rookie (Gallinari) still finding his feet. It improves us overall but i'm not sure if we are going to see a big improvement on defense. Wilcox hasnt shown that he is a shotblocker and Hughes loves to gamble too much for the steal.
