First impression---OUCH atleast Nate had 4 assists[shouldve been 5] Hughes gets it and shoots every time.

He's Crawful with defense and less passing ability.

There's nothing that is not known here. Yet, those who still wonder why we traded Crawful, should be happy we have Hughes. We need the extra body REGARDLESS.

He's not a keeper past 2010 but he could prove an acceptable stop gap. Just don't expect him to be a star.

Hughes sucks. The only thing the dude can do is play decent defense (sometimes)and slash to the basket. His jumpshot is about as inconsistent as it gets. We are going to have plenty of 1-8, 3-12 type games from this guy. If he is an improvement to Q, it is only a marginal improvement. But for the fact that we had no 2 guards on the team, I would be even more upset over the deal. The only good thing about Hughes being here is that JJ1 and Roberson are not here.

It wasn't just the shots but the selection.

Hughes needs to be reigned in by Head Coach D'Antoni immediately. For a new guy the shots were WAY too single-minded over being team-oriented.

I had flashbacks to Francis.

He looks confident, steps into his shot... And then as soon as it leaves his hands, you're like, "is this guy an NBA player?"
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yea for his first game he had no concept of team. He had that one nice bounce pass but thats about it. IMO he is 30 years old, he should have refined his game in highschool, now its just too late, with or w/o MDA trying to coach him better.

Those are the shots he takes and always had throughout his career. Just like Crawful, some nights he's on, most nights he's not, and it rounds out to a low 40s shooting percentage. Like Crawful but even worse if you can imagine it he breaks the offense to get his. He's always been like that.

If Mike can get him to break that habit just enough where he can contribute it will be an acceptable rental for the next season and a quarter. Nothing more.

He is 30 years old he isn't breaking anything but the Knicks.

Man people need to relax a little here on the Hughes pickup. He hasn't played in a month. He's a career 42% shooter. Everyone knows who he is. Everyone knows we need a two guard here as a stop gap measure not as a long term asset and not as a season savior. Everyone knows we're not going to be any good for the duration of his contract.

He's Crawful with defense and ever since Crawful left no matter what we have been down a body at the 2. We now have one to put out there so that Duhon and Nate don't spontaneously combust out there from too much playing time.

Yet everyone's incensed over this acquisition? Why?

He cant be worse than Q Rich. It really isnt possible. The only thing Im worried about is that instead of getting Qs minutes hes simply going to play alongside him. And that is a really terrible concept. The rim might have dents in it by the end of the night.

albeit it was his first day on the team, but his shot selection was TERRIBLE. also, he looked asleep off the ball. maybe he was nervous, tryin to make a good first impresion, whatever, but he was just looking to take a shot any which way but possible EVERY SINGLE TIME he touched the ball.

imho - he will never be any good - guy is only goin for his on the floor - no concept of team game (aka: al harrington number 2). understand why the knicks got him tho - so, let him play out the year, then see ya later buddy.

Your making Nate's and Duhon's situation worse than it really was.

Larry Hughes should be prohibited from shooting more than Malik Rose was.

Pass the ball and defend the perimeter

Larry Hughes is a 40% shooter from 3 pt range & u guys don't want him to shoot the ball... amazing... he's coming off 17 consecutive DNP's, he's gonna be rusty... everyone take a chill pill... it was 1 game.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

What? He's a career 30% 3 point shooter, 41% from the field. He's terrible. Someone needs to work on this guys' shot.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Agent Zero

It's not the shooting percentage but the me-first rushed shots that will turn the NY crowd against him

NY basketball fans can spot a myopic player a mile away and, fair or not, somebody must bear the brunt of any displeasure

somebody better teach Zero where to pass the pill

he better dive after the first loose ball within 15 feet or his stock will continue to drop faster than you can say General Motors
