Stern is going to use this to bring contracts down again. I think this could be a good thing that leads to a more competitive NBA. Big time Franchise talent coming up for free agency every single year with guys only getting 4and 5 years max deals and the MLE only being 2 years long................ it will be as close to the NFL as Stern can get it.

Anji, the problem is that there is no way the union accept something like that. The only way they do that is if they increase the amount of money they can make, in a year, significantly.

BTW, a lockout would look AWFUL. You thought the NBA was losing steam? Think of what a lockout would do.

Losing franchises won't be good for the Union either. They lose membership.

Just realized that we should be able to buy first round picks, both in 2009 & 2010. Maybe we could buy ours back from Utah!
