that's true but very few players in NBA history have had Kemp's freakish leaping ability... look at Patterson & tell me he looks undersized to you... the kid's a beast

Everytime I watch Patterson, he reminds me of Melvin Ely out of Fresno. Not an athlete but has good instincts and all around ability. Best player on a not so talented team. Undersize at center in the NBA.

Maxiell's what, 6'7" 260? Patterson's a different body type altogether... he's at least a legit 6'9" & he's got a huge wingspan... we have D Lee at the same height & approximate weight guarding C's in the NBA right now in this system... Patterson's can use his long arms to his advantage making guys alter their shots, & he's strong enough to hold his position down low when guarding guys in the post as well... he's more akin to Amare Stoudamire when he first came into the league than Jason Maxiell if u ask me (physically speaking)... i think Patterson's got the frame to put on a good 15-20 lbs & still not lose much of his athletic ability either from the looks of him, which would put him just about at what Amare's at right now.

i would play him at the 4 & hopefully acquire either Amare or Bosh to be the C on this team... or if we end up keeping D Lee past this season, they can both play the frontcourt & guard whoever's a better matchup on the other end.

I wouldn't be mad if we got him and kept Lee. Patterson has a good frame. I think people are wrong about Thabeet being too skinny, that guy has a frame similar to Dwight's coming out of HS, when people said well he is too thin to play center in the NBA and will be between a 4 and 5. Guys get bigger in the league.

I don't care about D'Antoni's system besides I believe whatever free agents you get in 2010 will determine if you will be running up and down the court like mad men or walking into a half court set.

Patterson is a good player for this system. He's mean he's very athletic he's runs the floor well rebounds well has a great body and is a high efficiency player. It remains to be seen if the Knicks even want a C--he is not a C but he can play 4-5 in this system

I see that NBADraft.net has Jrue Holiday, Ricky Rubio, and Cole Aldrich coming out next year.

If those three come out, then we'd be able to get a lot better player.

That could push Jrue, Greg Monroe, Summers, or Teague down to a point where we could think about drafting them.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

i don't think Thabeet's too skinny to make it in the NBA... the only question i have w/him is because of his somewhat lumbering quality moving up & down the floor, i dunno if he'll ever be the Marcus Camby style player people are saying he could be... i think he's a lot closer to an Erik Dampier w/less bulk in the way he moves on the floor, & right now i dunno if he's ever gonna be much more than a shotblocking/rebounding specialist... i really am hoping to get more than just a specialty player w/our lottery pick this year... hopefully we can nab more than 1 w/a Lee or Nate trade at the deadline... i would love to add 2 of the guys on the draft list for next season.

Whenever I think of Thabeet, I think of Mutombo. There may be differences, but I see the same very strong defense and rebounding with a mediocre offensive game. He'll be a very good nba player and will go way before we draft.

He's not Mutombo. Mutombo played with a much more solid base.

I'm glad that Aldrich is coming out. He may be available when we draft and is the kind of smart, instinctive, well rounded center who will do well in D'Antoni's system. I'd rather have Thabeet, but he won't be there for us. I'm not that impressed with Mullens in spite of his superior size and athletic ability. We also have a strong need for a shooting guard, but if a good center is available when we draft, we should fill that need first.

If we're holding Lee to trade him before the draft... Jennings would have to be the target. We need that type of player.

I don't like Thabeet's frame. I think he'll get pushed around.
I'll be shocked if he doesnt go 2. I havent seen 1 player this year push him around. He is 275 pounds.

How the hell can you NOT like Thabeets frame -- has there been a more impressive body come into the NBA since Dwight Howard.

Thabeet is huge, with enormous length, he's cut tight, he blocks shots above the square and pins more balls on the backboard then any center I've seen.

I laugh at guys who would take some of these other Ho Ho's over Thabeet and fail to realize that his presense would make the Knicks instant playoff favorites.

Just imagine Roy coming into the lane on Thabeet last night == what row would that shot have been sent into?

Top 10 guys not in order
I made out a list of the top ten pure BPA[not in order] --if anyone else wants to add in go ahead.
Aminu el-the freak
Griffin
Thabeet
Hill
Mullens
Patterson
Jennings
Teague
Evans
Harden

Here's 6 that I like....

I haven't really seen guys like Patterson, Mullens or Jennings and something about Hill I'm not crazy about (may just be his mug).

Griffin (size & speed)
Thabeet (size & intimidation)
Rubio (the passer & creator)
Aminu (huge hands, great length and athlete)
Holiday (under control, nice size, unselfish - restrained by Collison's presense)
Evans (great size, NBA body and first step)

A little lower -- maybe around our pick I like.....

Calathes
Singer
Henderson
Budinger
Aldridge

BJ Mullens is David Lee only 4 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier. Not because he is white but because he has the same springs in his legs that David has. Thats because he can use both hands like david can. Thats because he will shoot a very high % like David does. Thats because he will rebound like David can. He can also win dunk contests like David did to show increcible agility for such a big man who also possesses an incredible base. He's not a great defender like David although he is 7 feet tall and 270 pounds and that alone can help clog a lane. Take this to the bank if BJ Mullens stays one year he will be pick 1 in the 2010 draft. IF IF and its a BIG IF IF this player fell and we were drafting 10-12--we would be PSYCHOTIC not to take him even though he would need development time of atleast 1 year[although he would be good enough to play of the bench immediately] Unlike Gallinari--this is not a soft body player--this is a big athletic C with a very strong base who has a mean streak as well. He now knows hes bigger and stronger than his opponents and when he gets the ball near the hoop its nearly a dunk every single time.
