it's close but my pick is lbj because i feel cleveland would be worse with kobe and the lakers would be as good, if not better with lebron. kobe's cavs do not beat the pistons 2 years ago and get to the finals.

Didn't anyone watch the olympics, Lebron was far better. And by my logic you look at the supporting cast out there Josh Smith and Joe Johnson are good players and it was a bad matchup for the celtics who should have actually lost if Bibby came to play in Boston Garden...

Gasol is one of the better bigs in the league, Lamar is a fringe all-star most years, Lebron had what out there Biz Z and Delonte and the celts got bailed out by PJ Brown. He is the better player. Give him shaq and the Lakers never lose a to the pistons.

I actually disagree with that.

The 1 year that Odom was with Miami, he scored 17pts a game on 43% shooting which is significantly lower than what he's shot for his career.

Odom's been a solid 15/10 with the Lakers on about 48% shooting.

Funny, but I thought that was up to Odom, especially considering that Odom is the main playmaker, besides Kobe.

I think any advantage Odom had in Miami came from Riley and the fact that Wade and he are less redundant in styles than he and Kobe.

Kobe is the better player. He's been the best player this entire decade.

LeBron is the better team player.

LeBron is to Magic, as Kobe is to Jordan.

I was just about to make that analogy. And I preferred Magic to Jordan, but Jordan just had that "crazy" over Magic that I think Kobe has over Bron.

The game tomorrow should be interesting to see how LeBron responds. People have called Kobe's spree last night marked a return to selfish ways. One can call it selfish but I think it was premeditated aberration. I think Kobe is bothered by NY's infatuation with LeBron.

In the pregame interview he was asked how he felt the atmosphere at changed at MSG this year to last. He said "In the past the topic was...hmmm...how much will I score. Now the topic is can they win." I think Kobe wanted to obviously win, and I don't think he questioned that they would, but he's also conscious of Jordan's legacy in the Garden, and a possible future here for LBJ, and he wanted to put his stamp on the moment.

Its a little selfish, but Jordan was selfish that way too. These guys thrive off maintaining an edge; they need to have a little crazy in them. Will Bron be packing some crazy tomorrow?

Magic couldn't score or defend like Jordan.

But LeBron can score & defend like Kobe. Then factor in that he's a better player ine EVERY other regard.

I agree with you on the crazy thing. Magic and LeBron seem to play out of a joy for the game. Jordan and Kobe were more interested in imposing their will on you, show their dominance and rip your heart out.

I see LeBron following up Kobe with a triple double, scoring less than half of what Kobe did, and winning by more than the Lakers did.

LeBron cannot score and defend like Kobe. When motivated Kobe can be the best defensive player in the league. Look at the Olympics when he focused only on the defensive end. Scoring wise, Kobe is on another level and I'm not just talking about PPG average. I don't see LeBron ever going for 80. Kobe's outside game and FT% sets him apart.

Not even a debate. Kobe couldn't get that cleveland team to the finals or take the celtics to 7 games last year.

That logic would suggest that the Hawks were better than the Lakers and Piston's, and I don't think you believe that.

I like Kobe but he does wig out in the playoffs w/o Shaq. But didn't it take Bron until last season to hit his first game winning shot? C'mon with that!

Haven't seen enough Bron this year to weigh in, but as of last year I'd have gone with the MVP.

Making a game winning shot has more to do with chance and situation than is does with talent. The fact that he single handedly beat the Pistons in Detroit in game 5 of the playoffs, the year the Pistons were favored to win the Chip is more impressive than a game winning shot.

Lebron is averaging more than Kobe this season. Averaging more per playoff game in their careers.

Whichever one was on Cleveland would be called on to score more.

Biggest difference. Kobe says he wants the responsiblity to guard Lebron while Lebron is not so into guarding Kobe. The guys at TNT were making that point about Lebron while his defense has improved while being in the league, it is no where near Kobe's defense. Kobe's game like Jordan has changed over the years. I am curious to see how Lebron will adapt when he find he can't get to the rim like he used to. Saying Lebron took the Cavs to the finals in the weak East is nothing to me. I also think Lebron needs the ball in his hands more than Kobe who seems to be able to turn it on whenever he feels like it. I seen games this season that Lebron can't do the same in the Laker and Orlando games. I wonder how Lebron will operate playing with a Shaq. We haven't seen that yet. Lebron has the greenlight to do what he wants so far without another star player or star power coach to get in his way.
