Instead of Steele sticking to his guns, he apologizes to Limbaugh?? A grenade-throwing, shock jock who has already proven to hold Black people in total disdain? This is one of the more disgusting moments I have ever witnessed.

This goes to my original point, that Republicans bow an kneel to this idiot --- the true leader of the republican party. LOL, Republicans = Whig party...You guys better get it together and quick. America is not impressed.

There is nothing professional about what Steele did. At BEST, it was shameful and cowardly.

Maybe Steele was "Attempting" the higher road.

That is the point I was trying to say. I guess some people expect him to act like a child and engage in an argument through the media.

He was kowtowing, Rush made him kiss the ring. Rush is a serious political force in this country, and he proves it everytime one of these elected officials step out of line with him. Steele isn't the first to fall over themselves trying to pretend like they didn't say what we heard them say regarding Rush. They apologize because they know he represents a huge part of their political base, and he has the power to turn them against him. He is a powerful man, someone to be taken very seriously. All of you guys trying to brush him off as 'just an entertainer' are either in denial and wishfully thinking out loud.

Limbough is a serious political force in this country in the same vein as Oprah. They both have large followings, some of whom view their views as gospel. But in the end of the day they are just entertainers. It seems that the only people who try to treat Limbough as a political leader are the usual people who try to discredit any Republican or Conservative person. If you guys tell me that Limbough is my political leader than I tell you that Oprah is yours.

I mean whats your point? I simply joined the conversation because it was being said the Limbough was the leader of the Republican party, which is ridiculous. The Republican Party is in disarray right now. But I can completely see why you would think why someone like Rush Limbaugh wouldn't be a strong voice of the party.

Is Rush Limbaugh the leader of your party? No. But the growing perception is that he is. Key word is perception. When people see his mug on t.v all the time, and the actual leader of the RNC bowing to his bluster and the party as a whole failing to denounce him and actually celebrating him--- what conclusion are people going to draw?

Thats why Obama did what he did. I knew where he was going with this from the jump. Obama is trying to expose the backwards, extremist wing of the party that has become the dominant voice in the Bush administration. He knew Limbaugh would take the bait, and now your party is going to go one of two ways. They are either going to break free of the Limbaugh infected nonsense that has turned the Republican waters toxic, or they are going to defend Limbaugh and embrace his views which will make Republicans look irrelevant and extreme in a changing centrist/now left-leaning America.

Its really that simple. Ball is in your guys court. Your poll numbers are dropping to dangerously low levels.

Rush is the de facto leader of the republican party. I get that that makes you wince, and I understand how you'd not want to be associated with him, but the truth is the truth. He has sway with more voters than any other republican. I don't see how you or anyone can deny that.
