Player of the week for eastern Conference: Thought about making a thread but since this thread is here. Lee playing well for the month, honored for the past week. Congrats David Lee:

Sometimes it is the system, sometimes it's the player. I think D. Lee can play in any system.

yeah, i think he'd rebound in any system, but maybe not be made as much of an offensive focal point. i think that's yet another benefit of trading ZBO as early as possible - we get to see what we really have with Lee and let him learn some new responsibilities.

it's pretty funny how a lot of posters here thought trading Zach would mean we'd have no good players that a bigname FA would want to play with in 2010... now everyone's saying the same about trading D Lee.

And they'll be saying the same thing about Jared Jeffries if we trade D Lee!

i wouldn't go that far... Fishlips is garbage... D Lee's actually a good player... but it just goes to show how people's opinions change around here as the wind blows sometimes, it's kinda funny.

Yo Lee is good. He doesn't stop on the boards and he's relentless in his play. Not a good defender but that's his only real flaw, cuz he can score well enough inside with either hand.

He's a borderline all-star but geez, he's not as good as Bosh or Amare.....he can out work them on any given night but he's still not on their level. He's not even the same type of player. Only player I can truly compare him to is Dave DeBushere(sp?). Dave was an awesome scorer before the Knicks so even that is stretch to even mention him with Lee.

I don't think it has ever been in question that David Lee is a good player.....the guy hasn't really done anything different except get consistant starters minutes. His play has always been the same. He is a double double machine....a legit one too.

He's still not a franchise talent but he is a nice piece to have. In the broad scheme the Knicks are trying to improve the team.....quiet as kept they are improving so maybe trying to crown Lee is a stretch. He has other teamates that are doing great jobs as well......not just Duhon.....harrington, q, wilson, nate too.....wanna start comparing them to adrian dantley, dennis scott, worthy, and archibald?

That argument way back on how Lee would struggle in D'Antoni's system because he couldn't shoot seems very silly right now.

I know I never said that about Zach. I never wanted him on the team, although I aknowledge that he was playing very well for us under D'Antoni. :::Shock sarcasm:::

Holy ****in ****!!! Tom chambers????

Ok.....hold the phone....tom chanbers was one of the best scoring big men in the league during the 80's. He hit 27pts per one year if I'm not mistaken......please come back to earth with the David Lee compared to Tom Chambers bull****!!!!

Respect Tom Chambers career. David Lee is no Tom Chambers!!!! Stop the nonsense!!!

LOL! i agree. tom chambers was bananas! a shame injury chopped his career in half. the only thing comparable is the rebounding and dunks but chambers was the hardest dunking white boy i have ever seen, no offense.

TOm Chambers was a longtime ago but I do remember that dude could play. I agree that Lee would have to take his offense up 2 or 3 levels before he could be compared to Chambers. That Utah team back in the day was tought. I still remember Mark Eaton swating shots.

David Lee's value is at a all time high. I think the Knicks seriously need to explore trading him with Curry, get picks in return and expiring contracts. It would be the best move for the team.
