if they took JJ and Curry I would throw in Chandler

We'd be able to re-sign Lee and Nate and go after free agents. There's no chance that would happen though.
why not? Curry will need time but someone out there believes they can make that size work. Chandler is a heck of a player at 21. Maybe they can do better or we would need to. Who knows. Maybe its Malik/Chandler/JJ skinny for AI

I would do that. It would give you about $27M in cap space for 2010 even if you hold on to Nate, Lee, Duhon.

Marbury for Iverson. Works for both teams if they want to dump and take a chance on Marbury. If they want to dump Kwame Brown and his extra year, we could also throw in Malik Rose. It works for both teams. It would be wonderful to trade Marbury instead of paying him win a championship.

BTW No team is taking on Curry. We are officially stuck with him unless we work out something, or he comes back gangbusters. But at this point with the tragedy, lawsuit, and injury and general apathy towards playing basketball, we have an official albatros.

It may work financially but if Detroit can't stand Iverson why would they want Marbury? Same goes for us.

Look, we may be hurting for a guard, and may want Marbury gone, but I really like the growth of this team WITHOUT such a bonheaded dominant player on the court. Iverson comes in he will trash everything we've built with our youth. What's the point of that? To get rid of Marbury? He'd end up hurting us from afar seeing the guy we trade him for will screw us up. No thanks!!!!

There's 13 weeks left in the season. Send IdiotBury home if you want him gone that bad or agree to his buyout in late February. Don't need to trade him.

Nothing good will come of trading Marbury. We're not getting anything good back. Nobody is taking our trash off our hands in addition to him. It's just not happening.

Dumars wants to rebuild the Pistons. I doubt he traded for Iverson with visions of building a contender with him. He probably thought, given he's a smart man, that there was a very slim chance it would work but he still accomplished his cap goals regardless.

Marbury and Iverson are one in the same today. They are both chemistry killing IDIOTS that no team aspiring to win should ever consider either as a BUILDING BLOCK.

Marbury's ego has been crapped on so he could probably behave on a championship contender long enough to help them to win off the bench in a reduced role.

Cryverson? Not a chance not even close.

So, to be honest, Marbury is actually MORE desirable to a contending team.

ALL THAT being said NEITHER PLAYER can help this team they can only HURT IT and in a big way. So anyone entertaining the thought of reactivating Marbury or acquiring Iverson dreaming it will make us a good team needs to be Old Yeller'd behind the woodshed pronto.

that is the most ridiculous reasoning i've ever heard... Iverson is 10 times the player Steph is & Steph is a much bigger cancer that Iverson never was... u'r kidding urself if u think any team in their right mind would ever consider trading Iverson away to get back Stephon Marbury unless u were throwing some serious sweeteners into the deal.

Then you don't figure in chemistry. Steph is willing to be a role playing bench player. Iverson will demand to start and still has to have it all in his mind.

Marbury > Iverson for a championship aspiring team given that.

I also never said or thought that any team would want to trade Marbury for Iverson - which limits said trade to Detroit-NewYork - of which I illustrated in an above post why that makes no sense for either team.

how am i not figuring in chemistry? Marbury's w/o question the biggest chemistry killing player the league has ever seen barnone, it's not even debateable.

They're both more than equals in destroying teams. It's just that at this stage Steph is far more willing to be the role player off the bench where Iverson clearly is not. That's all.

i don't agree w/that at all... Iverson has led his team to the Finals & he's well respected throughout the NBA by players, coaches & analysts alike... Marbury's a circus sideshow clown... there's no comparison there, i'm sorry.

Iverson's no saint, but you're comparing a 1st ballot HOFer to Steph here, let's get real.

I think the only way it could work is a three way- what do we need AI for?

Too bad Curry is so far out of shape he won't play until next year.

We need to buy out Jerome James, clearly more than his eating habits have been wearing off on Curry!

No need to buy him out. He's expiring after next year. He has a player option and may not stick around anyway, because he's just collecting splinters.
I'll never trust this' team again.

What we need to do is find someway to bring Iverson here AND keep Marbury. And get Artest while you're at it. Now that would be an interesting team.

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to New York and Detroit being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Detroit had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
