Thabeet doesn't do it for me... the Knicks need help pretty everywhere and while a 13/10/3 player is nice, he's also a junior. I'd rather take a guy like Aminu who's a freshman that's getting 12.5/8.5/1.5, even though he plays the same position as everyone else on the Knicks (SF).

This would work well for the Knicks and their attempt to corner the market in SFs.

With TT, Harrington, Gallo, Chandler, QRich, Patrick Ewing JR, Malik Rose, and this Aminu guy...we will be the New York Small Forward Knicks: We'll overpower your guards while getting wrecked down low.

I hear you, but the Knicks are a work in progress and their goal should be to get the best player available. The team is going to have to make a trade or two to get the right mix of guys to begin with. I'd rather get a guy who has potential than draft for need when the KNicks have more than one need.

And in true NYK style, we will win 2-3 too many games to get a high enough pick to get him and will still miss the playoffs. We definitely need another good pick, Gallo has shown signs but we need another presence, especially with the loss of the 2010 pick and the possibility we won't sign the FA we want.

I'm hopeful that Donnie has his eye on Thabeet as our center of the future and that potentially he will stock-pile enough assets to move up if necessary to get Thabeet.

Maybe the $4.5M Mobley exception would be usefule in some type of package deal to either swap picks or in a player pick trade.

I think Thabeet should be and will be the first center taken. If he were there when we pick, we should take him. However, if our pick is around 10-12 which is what I expect, Thabeet will be long gone. There is an unheralded sophmore center who plays for Kansas who I think would be good value around there named Cole Aldrich. Aldrich isn't spectacular in any one area of the game, but he's good in many aspects. He's averaging 15.4 ppg at 64% (80% from the line), with close to 10 boards and 2.7 blocks.

Draft Express lists him at 6'11", 250 with a 'great wingspan'. He scores facing the basket or in the low post and gets to the charity stripe often. He's a good, but not great athlete with the timing and skills to rebound well, play inside d and score.

I don't know if he's coming out this season. If he does, he'll be good value for when we pick and be a good fit for the team.

Alrdidge could be a very nice prospect and he might fit very nicely with Mike ball.

A big smart center with good skills -- including shooting and passing touch - who still rebounds (near 9 a game and blocks shots 2.7)

Really guys we've kind of cornered the market on combo SF/PF types.

We need a legit center, a point guard and a legit 2 guard.

Fine, then. Draft a point guard or a two that has potential to have more impact than Thabeet... my original post wasn't to advocate Aminu, but more to say I'd rather have the 87th SF on the Knicks active roster than draft someone like Thabeet
