I just don't see how he's been a knucklehead. He's had a couple of technical fouls, but I've seen him mature a lot the past couple of years. He's doing his best to learn the game.

Nate is a shorter Jamal Crawford. He's a loser, plain and simple. All he cares about are his numbers and making highlight reels. You can't teach him to be a team player.

I hope he tears it up from now until the trade deadline, then find some dumb GM to take him. If they can get a first round pick or package him with Jeffries, that would be ideal. Then they can try to re-sign Lee to a sensible contract and hope to God that Curry can rehab his trade value by 2010.

+INFINITY except explore unloading Lee with Curry.

He is good for the mix, and has a fire that many on this team don't have. If he can consistently play like he has the last few games, he can be an excellent bench player for this team.

I am not a big fan of his emotional outbursts, but they seem genuine, (if immature), to me.

MDA is going to have to decide whether the good things Nate brings to the table outweigh the frustratingly bad stuff. He also has to decide whether he believes he can "clean up" Nate's game in terms of efficiency and consistency while allowing him to keep the "fire" which seems to drive him.

Nate ain't going nowhere! Trade him for who?? Or what?? Nate is going to be a star in this league and there is no doubt about it. We can go ahead and get rid of Lee and Nate if you want to and get back broken down stars who never did anything for thier team. We need a shot blocking center who can defend and let this team grow. They are starting to come together and Nate plays a big part. Whenever someone is having a few bad game like Nate you want him gone. I like his energy and sure he speaks out but he is getting better and fun to watch. Nate is a crowed pleaser and he sells tickets. The young kids love him.

Nate is clearly an impact player.

But he is a luxury, one I would say we shouldn't keep.

I'd look to try to get at least 2 first round picks- maybe there is a play off team holding someone elses lotto bound pick, like Utah

Give me one in 2009 and 2010 or a teams own 2009 & 2011.

that's comical how u somehow believe Nate & Lee are guaranteed future stars on the rise & yet only think we can get back broken down stars who never did anything for their teams in a trade for either of them... if Donnie can get a 1st round pick for either of them it's a deal he should look into, especially when the draft will be deep w/talent in the mid-later round... btw, i've been saying we should be looking to trade these guys since last season, so please enough w/the generalizing... not all of us are the twisting in the wind type of posters who change their opinions about players after every other game (tho u'r right, there are alot of them around these parts)

I'm a believer. I would keep my ears open because someone is going to give Nate a full MLE---I don't know if the Knicks can sign Lee and Nate and have any hope to have cap room in 2010--they also have to sign Duhon and Harrington[maybe]

The thing with Nate is he's an impact player off the bench--he's a difference maker when he plays smart. I just think that slump had to do with him being given TOO MUCH free reign and putting him into spots[starting 5] which isnt his gig. Nate is energy Nate is heart--he epitomizes a 6th man and he could easily be a 6th man of the year some day. He is a modern day John Starks. He changes tempo and does a lot of things very well. Notice--over the last 4 games he has used his speed and athleticism to get much higher % shots and he makes them. If he stays with this--if he stays away from taking bad shots and playing team ball all the time--he really is a great little player. I don't see how we can give him away for nothing or very little. I don't know how the Knicks are going to do everything they want in terms of FA--I really don't. I think we are just a couple of players away from being pretty darn good. If we were going to take Gallinari with 6 we shouldve made the move to acquire either Koufus or Jordan late first early second when they fell. Charlotte acquired Denver's pick for cash that they took Anjica with. If we had a big man who gave a solid 15-20 minutes and a guard who can shoot too replace Q Rich and perhaps a veteran back up PG--I think this team might be able to do some things and not have to rely on FA.

I officially wanted to trade Lee in December of 07' with Curry and James as soon as the season was derailed by Marbury and draft scout. I wanted an immediate expiring and a pick between 15-22.

Yeah, trade N8, trade N8!

I can't wait to see more of Roberson, and maybe some other NBDL rejects.

i hear you. it's really demeaning, insulting and condescending.

you can just hear the unspoken word in that phrase. it's hanging in the air with all its implication and insinuation.

what he's really saying is:

"you village people"

Nate the great--the Knicks will just have to pay the man. He's an impact player off of the bench. I don't think the Knicks can focus so much on this drive for cap room in 2010--if it's there great--but they will have to take car of guys like Duhon Lee and nate.

We're beating teams now because of bench differential. We have a top 3 bench in the NBA.

When Nate dunks I wonder if he's scared at the fall on the way down? His feet looked like they were 8 feet off the ground on that alley oop. That would easily put me in the hospital with two broken legs

Right now I still would explore trying to trade Curry's contract with Nate as the sweetener to a team like Dallas for scraps (Stackhouse, George, Bass) so we can get rid of Curry's contract. Dallas is capped out for the duration of Curry's contract so a trade for them would make sense since there cap situation is already screwed. They could use a guy like Nate on that team.

Nate.

i think all of these guys can be as good if not better than Nate & all can easily be had in the mid-late 1st round this year:

Patrick Patterson (low post beast & can block shots)
Jeff Teague (similar style player w/a little more size)
Stephen Curry (better shooter)
Demar Derozan (freakish athlete w/good size at the SG, might be a star someday IMO)
Patrick Mills
Darren Collison (great defender)

i don't view Nate as a guy we must hold onto in the least, even tho i do think he's better than a lot of guys give him credit for around here & have defended him plenty of times over the years... he's still replaceable.

We already have a pick in that range

yes but we can get another one & take 2 of those kids... wouldn't u want a chance to land both Patrick Patterson & either Curry or Teague? or Derozan? i sure would.
