Gallo can def jump, he recently said one of the main things he is lacking from the injury is his jumping. But when healthy, he defffff has some hops remember his putback during summer league>?

Larry Johnson used to be able to jump before his back injury. But I guess he was lucky to lose his hops on the downside of his career and not at the very beginning.

I hate showboating. In fact, I hate Gallo for dunking the way he did. He's a showboater and therefore I hate him. Alright, time for me to go to 7-11 to get some more Hateraide.

I know you are joking but he needs to learn humility. Now he is issuing a challenge to all players to test his defense. He pumps his fist after every stat line but puts his head down when he gets posterized. Reminds me of how Bogut claimed that he will take it to Kobe prior to ever facing him. You just shake your head and say why even put yourself in that position.

Really? I don't mind the kid challenging players to test him. What is he supposed to say? "Uh, I'm a poor defender. Please don't come at me." The Bogut comparison is poor because Gallo didn't issue an individualized threats. He just said he wasn't afraid of a challenge.

It was an open challenge, so I don't see how the comparisons are weak, maybe because you don't like it? But it wasn't necessary. To issue an open challenge after playing 4 games ain't wise. As I said, Iggy took it right to the kid after he pumped his fist. We get on athletes all the time for showboating but somehow we giving this kid a pass. These athletes look for bulletin board material all the time. Get accustom to the league, grow and let your game develop then you can make challenges. Now are we suppose to get mad if Amare or Shaq take it personal and try to go out bang this kid down. Act like you been there before and that is what you are suppose to do. Clyde and Breen got on Harrington for doing that against the Celtics at the end of the game pumping up the crowd. We get on Nate all the time for doing that same crap. Just avoid it.

Whatever dude -- if you think Bogut saying he's gonna take out Kobe is the same as Gallo saying he doesn't mind guys coming at him, that's on you. I didn't say one thing positive or negative about Gallo's fist pumping and I never said nothing about any of that with regards to the other players. I just don't think the kid's comment in the paper today was so atrocious. In fact, I thought it was a good sign of confidence.
He also said he's ready for anyone who wants to go at him defensively.

"Come at me. I have no problem," he said.

"I take the challenge, and I take any kind of player."

What's wrong with that? Are you saying that if he didn't say this that players wouldn't want to play hard against him? That's bulletin board material?? If that's bulletin board material then you might as well not say anything. Guys are gonna come at him regardless. Every rookie gets tested.

That's the point. Don't throw fuel on the fire.

Cool P. My only disagreement then is that I don't think it's much fuel.

Don't take much for some of these guys. Jordan used to read the local papers just to find any motivation to his advantage. As Riley used to say with the Knicks "stop giving them material, they're already talented enough."

Pharz, you are making a big deal over nothing. I understand you wanna try and quell all the excitement that everyone has, but come on.

Not really that. I just don't like it. I didn't like it when Jacobs was going out in the press doing it, I didn't like when Shockey was doing it. I don't like when Nate did it and still does it. Gallinari is just an example of a bigger problem. I am just a little surprise that he would be doing it. Nevermind.

To be fair I notice and mentioned it in his first game back with the added fist pumps on the charge, block and score. Iggy mentioned it after the game too and I guess that is why he gave a mocking fist pump on the jam. I say avoid all that stuff. I hated it when Walker used to do it to the Knicks in his rookie year.

That's the thing though. I usually don't like it if a player singles out another player or if a player singles out another team. But here, I don't feel like that's the case. I just feel like the kid is speaking in general terms. If people want to challenge him on D, he welcomes it. We both agree it's gonna happen anyway. He was just stating that he's not afraid of the inevitable. We're obviously looking at this thing differently. No biggie.

I was just messin with ya man and I hear ya. I hated when Shockey did that stuff. Shockey was my favorite player to, until the thing he did last year.

I agree with you, you don't want to see Gallo go any further with his celebrations. I honestly just think this was a kid that went through alot to get to the point where he's on the court and playing. I can imagine it's tough to come to a new country and deal with the pressures of being a a top10 draft pick in a city like NY and for him to come back and be playing again, he was probably just pumped up.

That's why I understood the first fist pump. I said he pumped up for his real first game and understood but he continued it. I am just shock that he is talking so much and fist pumping a lot. Nate is a knucklehead no matter how many times you tell him to tone it down, you know he is going clenched the fist and do something silly. I'm afaird if he hasn't learn it yet, he never will. D'Antoni made it a point to discuss this about Gallinari in the preseason about a rude awakening. So maybe, the coach is on it, I am just a little surprise that's all. The last thing I need to see is a Shaq or Amare used this kid to make an example.
