i'm not sure why writers or non-nba'ers are voting for these awards. they should let every player/coach/gm/owner vote for MVP and other awards. writers are for the most part, idiots and don't see all these players every night. meanwhile people in the game have get scouting reports and actually play against them.

kidd should've won over duncan in 2002. nash should've won over shaq b/c he totally turned a team (and franchise) around in a more dramatic fashion.

Why do fans make such a big deal over him winning MVP twice?

I told you why.

When mentioning the Suns previous record before Nash arrival make sure you also mentioned that the Suns traded Marbury and receive back garbage and a draft pick (it was a salary dump) and also mention the fact that Amare was out for most of the season with an injury. The Heat had a developing Wade and a very good player in Odom. Shaq was the reason why that team went to the Eastern Conference Game 7.

Shaq had the better year, IMO, but neither ran away from each other. Now if you had Nash at number one and Shaq at number two or three --- cool. But what some of the voters did was they left Shaq completely off the ballot. They didnt vote for him one, two, three or four to ensure that Nash would win.

There was no good reason why someone would have voted in such a manner than to control the outcome.

This was reported on ESPN and was a bit of bitter of debate about if it was being rig for Nash.

I don't think your argument is accurate nor that strong considering what the results were and how their seasons played out. 2005 without question he had a bigger impact than Shaq. in 2006 Amare got injured and the Suns barely skipped a beat.

If your want to argue circumstance and setting different criteria every yr fine but I don't think it was an outright stiff over other players. I mean Kobe had the MVP won at start second half of the season last yr because some felt he got robbed the yr prior to....what kind of standard is that? Now Lebron practically has it wrapped up because some felt he was just as deserving last yr. MVP award doesn't mean too much in the grand scheme of things as a fan. It might get players more money down the road but there is no credibility in the Award, it rivals All-Star voting nothing but a popularity contest, that's all. Nash 2peat of the Award was no more a Farce than in previous seasons or those to come.

I dont disagree with most of that. He was the hands down winner in '06. I dont know. I felt the writers sort of edged him along in '05. Usually back-to-back MVP winners are slam dunk HOF'ers, but I dont know if you can make that case for Nash. I think if the writers anticipated Nash winning it the second year, they wouldnt have given it to him in '05.

If this was true than there would never be a debate about the issue, correct. You need to support this.

MVP is most value for same money.
Nash never had the money Shaq or Kobe or Lebron made and making.
He exceeded expectations. He made team, players, and even coach better.
He has value for others not for himself.
LeBron is the man now also because of this, not his supperman talent.

You should remove this post. Nash signed a near max deal when he won his first MVP. Lebron was still playing on his rookie contract.
