bitty you dind't address my point - you don't think lebron would want to play with wade, bosh or amare? and we might have 3 or 4 good surrounding players for them. plus 1 or 2 vets who might want to sign for small dollars to be part of it. and on center stage in the nba.

His team is currently number 1 in the East and not to mention Clev has their own cap and will be significantly more able to draw a free-agent to the Knicks so no I think it's a pipe dream. That is a huge GINOMOUROUS IF that the Knicks could lure not one but two big free-agents away from their teams.

I guess we as Knick fans want to believe in this plan to justify all the losing now but no I don't think the Knicks with things as they are will be able to draw away two big free-agents. In terms of Lebron unless something very dramatic happens I don't see him coming to a team that is in total rebuild mode.

yeah i am relying on a lot of wishing and hoping. but lebron has publicly stated that he wants to be the richest and most famous athlete in the world. he's going to be in his absolute prime and i think he might be looking to get to the media capital of the world.

If his team competes for another title within the next two years you honestly see him wanting to leave that team to come to a team that hasn't won 50 games in over 10 years?

he’s gonna get real frustrated if he keeps taking them to the conference or league finals and falling short because he has no supporting star player to pick up the slack when he gets doubled. that's why i think one of the keys is going to be if he comes here at the same time as wade/bosh/amare, which has already been shown to be fiscally possible on other threads.

Shaq sure liked the challenge of doing so.

If If If... If Bosh goes to Cleveland to join LeBron so what?

The point of this whole situation is to tear down Isiah's mess so we can start over. A necessary path that had been ignored for a decade. Even if there wasn't a single FA to be had in 2010 we HAD to go down this road. Absolutely HAD TO!

What that will bring we don't know but you don't speculate that you might not land a major FA in 2 years and say "Oh well, let's keep Zach and Crawful then and try to add MLE talent to it each year!"

No, that failed numerous times, that's done, and thank god!

The point is while we've sought to tear down the roster we also threw our hat into the 2010 ring of FAs. I can't see how this is a bad thing no matter anyone's feeling on Wade, LeBron, and Bosh and their potential future decisions.

What's the harm? Might start building a winning team beginning in July 2010 on a few draft picks, a couple of young kids, and a solid FA or two or even three? MY GOD THE HORROR! MAKE IT STOP!!!!

I guess, judging by a number of posts the past day, we should have just kept on letting Isiah guide the ship then. These 23-33 win season are so much fun! The anticipation of the next grossly overpaid MLE free agent joining us sent expectations through the roof! Trading expiring deal after expiring deal and draft picks to land another team's grossly overpaid chemistry killing malcontent were dreams that came true each and every time cause the great Isiah was going to turn their careers around just like he did for JONeal!

BAH!!!!!!!!!

Walsh is doing the right thing and the whining some are throwing in here about losing this season (LOL as if we were going to win anything) and crying about how nobody will come here in 2010 (LOL as if you know that for certain) won't change that fact.

It amazes me really: The entire NBA from coaches to execs to players to journalists to fans of other teams and more than half the entire Knick fan base can see what Walsh is trying to do and are all applauding him over it.

Then you got less than half the Knick fan base pining for Isiah, Zach, and Crawful to come back to lead us to 23-33 win seasons because "No free agent is coming here!"

LOL!!!!!!!! What do you couple of fans know that millions of other NBA fans and franchise personnel don't know? LOL!

Wait so he's frustrated that he takes his team to the brink but doesn't have the enough talent to take him over the edge; so he's going to leave that and come to a team whose biggest concern is to finish with a better record then Memphis Grizz?

Isn't there also the possibility of Clev signing one of these free-agents and won't Miami have cap space in 2010?

Like I said I might be obtuse but this just doesn't make sense at all to me. I think the Knicks will get two free agents just not guys who can take them to a Championship.

I never bought into this idea that LeBron is going to come and save is in 2010. Not saying it can't happen, but to me that isn't the point of Walsh's moves. Isn't the idea to get under the cap and stop being a repository for all of the league's trash?

No it isn't because you just become Chicago post Micheal Jordan. Plenty of cap space but no one to spend it on.

I think I would feel more confident about the plan if Gallo was developing, we had a few other up incoming players, and more then one draft pick. Also in Boston's case they Al Jefferson (who subsequently is on my fantasy league team) and that's a big asset and Bos also owned the Jeff Green draft pick(who is on my fantasy league team as well) point being if your not on my fantasy league team you suck LOL. Seriously I just think that if you can offer teams a potential all-star and a top 5 pick is a big difference, to where the Knicks might be in 2010. Though I freely admit to not being fully versed in the inner workings of pro ball management.

Ebb and flow. If they win now he can leave a hero and begin a new challange. ITs hard to reach the mountain top and even harder to stay. I think we have a better shot of getting him if they win.

I'm going to take the hard headed approach and say that no matter how you spin that I will never agree with this logic EVER unless of course Lebron comes to NY after winning a title in Cleveland.

You must have a really low opinion of Lebron James as a person. So now he would leave because he wouldn't want to the challenge of repeating.

Did you hear him say that his goal in life was to become the wealthiest person in the world? Good luck achieving that in Ohio!
