if that's the decision they should announce it tomorrow. Why wait for a market to develop?

Increase his trade value. They said they'll only take an offer that will blow him away. Donnie seems to be playing this pretty well. Either way, I hope this is true and we resign Lee.

I agree. He's a player we drafted and he plays hard and smart. He's one of the best rebounders in the league and he improves his offense every season. I just wish the guy could learn to play some d.

Yeah, I do too, but to his credit, he has had some good moments and he busts his butt no matter who he's guarding. It just happens to be a mismatch frequently, and that's why we need a defensive presence in the frontcourt. I think if we had a guy like Kurt Thomas, Lee would learn A LOT. That's Lee's perfect mentor right there.

You could have had Lee for about 8 this year now the price goes up in my mind.

If you're playing a guy a lot of minutes and happy to see his states inflated, does that mean you're trying to increase his trade value or you're trying to re-sign him for a good bargain? The former seems more logical.

What our GM said only drove his market value up. His agent will use this against us when negotiating especially after they attempted a trade for Mayo, rejected a trade for Kleiza and first and Atkins and 2 firsts. Implying moving Curry makes it possible to sign Lee establishes his value there too. It could very well be understood having $10mil off our cap is a target amount at which negotiations can be discussed. His agent is Mark Bartlestein good luck thinking we're that hometown discount. Our GM is only encouraging phone calls to be made.

If a role player is one of our best players, that says a lot about our team right now.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

You consider a role player top 5 in rebounding, and top 5 in field goal percentage and 3rd in double double what do you call the rest of the team.

Yes, he is a role player and that's what were gonna need. As a matter of fact, he has been and still is the most consistent one out there as far as what he puts on the stats.
I'll never trust this' team again.

No he is not a role player for goodness sakes. He easily comps as a 10-12mm player

It's not that hard to have a high field goal percentage when all you're doing is taking layups. I think FG % is a lame statistic for big men who don't take any outside shots and Lee barely ever does that.

Great rebounder, poor defender, average at best offensive player = role player. Not franchise guy. Not superstar. Not all-star. Role player who helps winning teams fill that missing piece. That is what he is. Think Brian Grant without the dreads and with less defense. Much less.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

You must have been celebrating when Riley gave Brian Grant a huge contract then.

Let's say we bring Bosh, Wade and a few more talented players in a few seasons. If we still have Lee, Duhon, Harrington and Chandler, guys like these can act as role players for a amped group of star and very talented players. Don't you think? That not only gives us a very good starting five in there somewhere, but also give us a very strong bench. Role players.

But the team we have now, including Lee, it can be argued to keep any of them, since none are strong defensive players.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Lee is an asset either on the court or tradable.

If Portland gets fried with Dairy Ass Miles we could force them to do a sign and trade if they really want Lee.

Resign him. We got lots of time.

let Nate test the waters and see what happens.
