TkF the nets stunk for so long and they always had great picks coming their way(no playoffs). But along comes Rod Thorn (commissioner's office) and they make a few changes and boom they are right there . Why didn't anybody say Jason Kidd fell into Thorn's lap? Kidd had just got finish hitting his wife, Jerry Colangelo had to trade him because of the bad rep he would get all over the league ESPECIALLY ON WEST COAST.

playa you sound stupid, that was a huge risk for the nets and it payed off, thorne made a good calculated risk getting rid of the talented but selfish Marbury for the more accomplished and team oriented Kidd, brilliant move, falling into the nets lap as you put it is BS. Then they draft kenyon(whom I hate) but it was a good move and then the trade of Griffin for Jefferson and collins was great. Griffin is a headcase, and Jefferson is a exciting wingman to run with kittles and kidd. But again, george wanted a winner, put the right people in office to make the right moves and...... don't look now.. the nets are good!!!

omg... wtf...

SCREW the damn Nets!!!

Someone over there is gonna end up injured. As much as it's happened to us, they're due for some of that misfortune.

This twilight zone madness has to stop. Sooner or later...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

What are you talking about TKF? The nets need to get better , they stunk for so long what do you expect with all those high picks. But Kidd still fell in their laps. Kidd was the best pt guard in the league so to trade him for Marbury was crazy. I told you that because he hit his wife and it made the paper he had to get rid of him. Thorn got lucky when he picked up Kidd period.

The Kidd move was overrated. Marbury is proving he's a bonafide stud in Phoenix. I think it was a good chemistry move, but look at the roster also.. Jefferson and Collins are good players. Todd Mac was HUGE from them (they went 5-15 in 20 games without him), Kmart and Kittles both get healthy all at once... Kidd had VERY good timing as far as coming to that team.

Kidd for Marbury was a good trade for both team, nobody got fleeced there.

TFK what don't you understand? If kidd didn't hit his wife and the news didn't run with that story ,kidd would have stayed in phoenix. Think about it, THAT'S A PLAYER FALLING INTO THORN'S LAP!

Layden did the right thing again by holding on to Harrington. Now if other teams are desperate for a pf on the cheap they will have to trade someone to get othella from the knicks. I still like Mo Pete as SG!

Soon the Knicks will have the sort of depth in the front court they had during those 14 consecutive playoff appearances. The Eastern Conference offers few challenges, but any team that features the tag team of Dikembe Mutombo and McDyess (with Kurt Thomas as the big guys' backup) certainly won't lose in the rebound catergory.

Another note: When McDyess is activated, rookie PF Michael Sweetney is expected to go on the injured list. Sweetney, who failed to make the rotation, has looked lost in nine appearances and could stand to lose a few pounds. WORD UP! Layden a lot of post'a don't have patience , forgive them for running off at the mouth with low basketball IQ to their credit, but I for one was willing to wait to see this team you had envisioned all along to come to pass. Thanks for the latest moves that will propel us to the top of the Eastern Conference and dethroned the defending champs(NETS). We are turning the corner with Layden and Chaney and some can't stand it. YES.... AND IT COUNTS.

You have GOT to be kidding me.

We still have no PG (and please don't tell me that Ward and Eisley are the answers), and Keith Van Horn is basically stealing money with his inconsistent, crappy play. I guess the pressure is getting to KVH, being Scott Bin Layden's poster boy and all.

It's a joke the way this team is run.

Sweetney, Lampe, Williams, et al should be getting ample PT, not rotting on the bench as they are now. We have already seen what Charlie Wart and Coward Eisley CAN'T do. I'm glad Frank Williams is starting to get some minutes, but needs more.

Weatherspoon, Anderson, Harrington? Please..... we've seen that they have no game. Time to give the kids a shot. What are the Knicks fighting for exactly? The eight spot in the East, so that they can get their asses handed to them by Kidd in the first round?

Development begins by actually getting in the games, not sitting on the bench.

Watch out, BRD errr I mean Keith Van Suck... saying things like that means "you're not a fan"... "No fan would want their team to lose."

You'll find that in the Knicks vs Hornets thread.

LJ, I love the Knicks. It pains me to see them look this way.

I was at the game yesterday. MSG doesn't rock like it used to.

Trust me... i know how you feel. I bought a season ticket package w/ the magic just so i can see the two games here. I figured watching one of my favorite players (TMAC) would be a bonus.... but this season has been horrible. At least I got to see a knick win though. And I really hate the fact that this team keeps winning cuz i want to cheer for them so bad. But where can this team possibly take us? Can we even beat ANYONE out west in a series? It's all heartbreak.

Can any of you tell me what's gonna happen and how far we are gonna go when Dice comes back and we have a full roster playing for coach Chaney? I wanna know so I can post your stupid comments! Game picker results are evenbtually gonna show how much we all know the knicks.

I think that dividing up playing time is going to be awfully interesting over the next few weeks. I suspect that McDyess's minutes will be held under 24mpg until at least the All-star break, which nicely chops away all of Harrington and 'Spoon's minutes. Both of these could be useful role players, but in order to rid ourselves of both of them, we'd likely need to take on 1 bigger (useless) contract.

I could see the Suns making good use of both of them--- their frontcourt outside of Amare really stinks. You know you're in big trouble when you have the ageless Scott Williams starting for you. I'd rather have either of these guys in there any day.

I think the Raptors are done w/ the Knicks--- getting the promising yet undersized Lonnie Baxter is good reason. Then again, sometimes you can never have too many undersized PFs.

I'd like to see Lampe get off the injured list, if only to see him sit there in a jersey alongside Sweetney... though perhaps Sweetney simply needs to get himself injured for the enthusiastic Lampe to get his ass off the pine and in uniform.

How far as we going? Let's see.. MAYBE 8th place in the East. One round and out, as opposed to trying to rebuild through the draft. Oh, I forgot, the Knicks front office has no idea how to draft either.

You want to defend Dumb Dolan and Scott Bin Layden, that's on you, but IMHO, management IS a joke. Can't draft, no talent evaluation skill, capped out til kingdom come (which means no Kobe, Duncan, etc...), and worst of all, trading bad contracts for worst ones (ie Spree for KVH)

"When Dice comes back.."

We've heard this before. I'd be real careful in putting all the eggs in the McDoody basket. His knee(s) could go at any moment once he is on the floor. I feel sorry for him, but truth is, I'd rather had seen them keep Nene Hilario and let him develop.

What I don't understand is how everyone is so keyed on "contending for a championship." How many teams have won a championship in the last decade? Only 3 out of almost 30. Some of you still assume that just because you draft a few neophytes, you automatically assend to "Championship" level competition. It just isn't so. It isn't the team setting you up for heartbreak... you're just deluding yourself.

The reality of being a sports fan is that more often than not, the chances of your team winning it all are slim to none. Yeah, I know, the last few years it's seemed that the knicks have fared worse than some other teams, and I know we were all spoiled by all those years of relative good-fortune. But try to appreciate the team as assembled, or else you'll miss some good basketball.

Think about... Deke is a Hall of Famer. He's in a Knick uniform. Appreciate it. Allan is playing more confident and productive basketball than any Knick 2-guard in a while. Appreciate it. Charlie Ward has battled here for the better part of a decade, and probably won't be here next year. Appreciate that too.

I'm not saying swallow every load Layden and Dolan shoot off at the unsuspecting New York sports fan base. But when a team that's played as poorly as this squad has finally beats a few quality teams in winning four out of five, stop Hatin' for a second and appreciate it.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...
