We aren't winning games because 90% of roster is trash. It's as simple as that.

The roster was downgraded purposefully when we waived the physical on Mobley. I know we played hard after that, but the intention at the top wasn't to put the best roster on the court this year, but rather to field the best roster possible in the future. For that matter we can't expect to be great now.

We do need to start winning close games though. Its wearing on the team that they lost so many very competetive games at the very end. And the Pacers loss is just another one.

It would have been nice if help had come from the most significant draft pick in recent history in possibly the deepest draft ever.

Last Years draft wasn't that deep.

we weren't really winning games when our best rebounder & low post scorer & our best perimeter scorer were still here, then we trade them away & replace them with a versatile swingman scorer & Tiny Tim Fugazy & u gotta expect it's gonna be even harder to win games... this is how salary dump trades usually work... u sacrifice the talent to gain future cap flexibility... everyone's trying to dissect the reasons why this team is losing & still can't figure out that the roster isn't all that good to begin with... it ain't rocket science.

How bout it?!!! It also goes to show how many people don't know what it's like to win. When you grow up in losing, it's contagious.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Who cares about this season? Any wins this year are icing in the 2010 cake. Just develop the players and clean up the roster. All walsh should be concerned with is acquiring talent that can win a title and setting us up to be able to get that talent is what he's been doing.

Gallo just needs to keep taking his time. If he never plays this year but comes back healthy for the rest of his career that's all that matters. I'd love to see him play but only if he's fully healthy!

Aren't you the guy who said that with D'Antoni here that he could turn around the Knicks this season? Weren't you among the masses wanting to give him COY honors in November and early December? Now it is who cares about this season. Ok.

Thompson, Chalmers, Gordon, Augustin, Speights, Speights, Rush, Randolph, Arthur and McGee. Each of these players are averaging more than 5 points a game. No not a deep draft. A very deep draft.

The better question is "Why aren't these players, and the team in general, playing better fundamentally after 3 months under D'Antoni?".

B/c NBA coaches don't teach fundamentals. They should already have the fundamentals down when they enter the league. If they don't, then they need to work on them, on their OWN time.

Depleted team from injury, only six legit players, a matter of two other roster spots being empty (Mobley, Marbury). That's why. And no one really is a defensive expert. Can't blame this one on D'Antoni.

So all of the basic mistakes that this team continues to make are all the players fault and the coaches can be excused for ignoring them.

We're not talking about the fundamentals of dribbling a basketball.

God I hate that "we're undermanned" excuse. They had enough players to win a few games and compete in others (they did play the Lakers tough in LA on the end of a back to back) but that excuse never fails to show up on this board when this team puts up a stinker.

That's all I been saying for about the last week. We're depleted. But you know, we'd probably still suck if Curry, Jerome, Mobley and Marbury were playing anyway. You, me, the whole Knick world? We can't win no matter what we do or say. People here are burned out. I know I am and that's why it's so hard to be positive regarding this franchise.
