We need a frickin center

We need:

A starting C, PF, SF, SG, PG

In the meantime, as we continue to tear down the roster, over the next 18 months, before we have a chance to start rebuilding the roster, we will get some warm bodies back, maybe curry, maybe gallo, we'll solve the mobley and marbury issues and sign a guard and a big man, and we'll be in a little better shape.

Yet, posts like yours, ring as if you expect this to be a winning team, and we "just need a center and we'll be good".

That's just not happening. It's frustrating, but, it's necessary. This team HAD to be torn down... HAD TO... it was going NOWHERE it didn't already take us! (several fleeting moments with .500 play over the past five years).

And, this is what you get when you tear a roster down!!!!

Role players over extended, lack of depth, height, skill...

Get ready for 18 more months of it!!!

Summer of 2010 is like day 1 for the new franchise. That's when you begin to build the roster back up.

So I guess you can stand watching this crap until then, the constant chucking up of shots is making me ill. There is no need to average over 20+ 3 point attempts a game

Balkman is a good player. Too bad D'Antoni doesn't like him. He could have helped us.

Yeah, I wish Balk still here

Naw, he had to be shipped out, so we could sign the immortal diamond in the rough, ANOTHONY ROBERSON!!!!!

Oh, and plus we had too many SFs, so Balkman had to go to make room for Jeffries, Gallo's back problems, etc! Not that this stopped Mike D from sometimes fielding a 5-SF-LINEUP that actually works at times. If Balkman was here, that wouldn't work, so it was a necessary trade!

BAH.

Hey, Balk isn't saving anyone, but it's so clear that was just a bizarre unnecessary trade. When you're giving up 12-0 runs that's when you bring a Balkman in to scrap around and change a game's tempo. The guy isn't going to suddenly go 5-5 from downtown, but, he's going to deflect shots, disrupt the opponent who is on fire, he will run a fast break to perfection either dishing or finishing, and then when the game is back in your hands you sit him down for your starter.

But, well, we didn't need that did we!

That was a terrible trade and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.

If the Knicks can keep Denver playing half court (slow pace), they can win this game.

This is how I stand it:

There is a plan in place that I believe can work. Unlike the past 9 years. This one has merit. This one can work.

As to the offense, yeah, I got a problem with it as well. Yet, remember, there are role players plugged into it right now. We don't have a single LEGIT starter here (if you're a top 16 team that is) so let's see what happens when we get legit starters plugged into it.

I don't like this, but I hated the whole Isiah "just one more trade" spinning wheel of doom.

As I said, Isiah's team was guaranteeing you, what, 38 wins when it finally worked? That includes this season don't let 6-5 fool you that too was about to go down.

So, what do you do as an incoming GM?

You say: Is this a core I can add to or is this a core I have to dismantle?

The clear answer was: DISMANTLE!

Given the contract lengths on board, we knew it was going to be 2010 before anything could change here.

So now, that's where we are! We're stripping salary, we're giving the role players playing time - so we can sift through them too to see if we have any keepers - and come July 2010, that's when the first LEGIT steps are made to rebuild the roster.

Until then, it's hang tight, and just watch the guys like Lee, Nate, Gallo(soon I hope), Chandler - and see what they give us and if they are keepers.

It's amazing how he's evolved as a player because as a Wizard(?) he was a one dimensional chucking BUM. Then in Detroit he evolved into a terrific player and you got to respect that. He's entering his twilight though.

Damn, we just can't stop Melo.

This game went from boring and slow, to us getting blown out, to us scrapping back into it, to a highly entertaining and high scoring game, to a dammit Nate is going to his 1-1 chuckfest and we just can't score and it's killing us.

I love Nate but the kid is killing us with selfish chucking play. No need for it....

I believe he was with the Wolves before going to Detroit.

..and seriously...what is with the Chucking with Nate, Chandler, Harrington at times?

This offense guarantees you numerous shots per game so there is no excuse for deciding to go off on your own. Are some of their misses good shots? Of course and they were just plain missed. Yet, there's been some play from all three players today that were inexcusable selfish chucks. And with this offense they were all early in the shot clock and there's no excuse for not passing the ball to someone else. Instead, the shot goes up, the shot bricks, and I die a little more inside.
