A moment of silence for Freddie Hubbard

If you have an interest in music excellence pick up his seminal 1972 recording First Light.

Oh that's too bad. I wasn't too familiar with his music, but my girlfriend was playing First Light a couple of days ago and I mentioned that I really liked it.
https:// It's not so hard.

If you treat her nice she may enlighten you even more

Freddie Hubbard was the James Worthy on an all star jazz team of giants.

Co-sign on Mr. Earl... a woman who puts you on to Freddie Hubbard? That's fly. I like how this thread devolved (or evolved) in a jazz discussion. Seems very appropriate for a New York basketball forum. "Red Clay" is my joint, I got put on to it from researching Tribe Called Quest samples. RIP.

And I'll segue back into the thread... what is jazz aficionado Kareem Abdul-Jabbar doing these days? Is he in the Lakers front office? I heard the stories that he was an old curmudgeon and burned a lot of bridges, but that's my dude! I wanna see the teaching of Coach John Wooden and Sifu Bruce Lee in the Garden!

DrAlphaeus - the turn-the-corner progession of "Red Clay" is the stuff of legends. Although some jazz critics panned Hubbard's sly move to contemporary fusions, the magic in the trumpet could not be disguised.

If basketballjoneses girl puts "Salt Song" on the turntable he should propose marriage on the spot.

Imagine if the Knicks could start Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, Eric Gale and Stanley Turrentine.

The CTi album covers were works of art in themselves.
