ha. you guys are so mean.

5 issues here.

1. is the guys' back terminally f'd up?
we don't know. the signs aren’t great, but they're not definitive in either direction.

2. did he have a previous back injury?
we don't know. there are no clear indications of that yet.

3. did the knicks know he had a back injury and draft him anyway?
we don’t know. go read #2 again and stop asking stupid questions.

4. can the guy play?
of course the guy can f'g play! go back and watch the 2nd half of his summer league game. the guy's a flat killer. bunch of haters.

5. was he a good gamble?
hell yes. 6'10" with that handle and that shot in 's system. documented presence, ballsiness, leadership at such a young age. who the hell else was so great and available at 6? joe f'g alexander? anthony "i'm on the trading block" randolph?

quitcha bitchin’!!!

The 2nd half of that summer league game is the UK equivalent of the Zapruder film.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

andrew, martin - any headway on that "turn emoticon off" feature?

Yeah, at this point I'd rather have that than the search feature.

Someone on realgm posted this.

2004 - He was 15 and missed several months due to doctors telling him not to play so he doesn't have complications during a growth spurt
2006 - Broken foot
2007 - Knee sprain, He had to miss the tourny because the injury happened so close to it.

It doesn't look like he has a history of injury problems. All of the stuff listed seems pretty routine.

heh, the Knee Srain in 07 was from him slipping.

There, good news at least, but all of this is pointless if his back is going to be a continuous lingering issue that will flare up at any time.

This team is doing the fans a disservice by not telling the media what exactly has gone on with Gallo. It's almost like it's one big secret. All we hear is "maybe" it was a bulging disk and "it needs rest". Well, six months is a heck of a long time to rest any injury that's said to not be serious and not need surgery.

So what gives? What's the truth on this thing? Why is it he's gone through his third "we will re-evaluate in 4-6 weeks" only for us to hear he needs another 4-6 weeks of rest? LOL? Come'on now.

This secretive crap makes you worry. If all was well they'd tell us. Well, it's not. What next? He gets out there and gets banged up and back on the shelf with a bad back? Yeah, it sure seems like that's a possibility.

Then we got another useless asset - a wasted pick - that has no value whatsoever.

Players have come back from surgery faster than it's taking this 20 year old to come back from whatever it is the crack committee prescribed "rest" for.

i think the knicks should've done their due dilligence on gallo. i found this old armani jeans training camp video. no wonder gallo has had health issues.

I have no trouble believing that even if he didn't have any preexisting issues, having him bang up against 300+ lb Tractor Traylor certainly could have done some damage. Was he really expected to match up to that?
