dudley will flourish with nash

Yeah he will. I've wanted the Knicks to go after him since last year and especially when they signed MikeD - I think in this system the guy is an awesome hybrid big.

I like the trade for both teams..

I do too... this deal from the Bobcats perspective looks an awful lot like the Randolph trade from the Knicks end.

How so? We traded Randolph for Salary cap space. Bobcats get no relief in this trade. Diaw has 3 yrs on his contract, 1 more than JRich.

Downgrade in talent, but get two players that could help. There was the contractual element to the deal, true, but if Mobley ended up playing... I don't know I see it as a conscious effort to build a better team. Bobcats needed to get a SG and a PF out of this trade, and they did. And like Tim Thomas coming to play for MDA again, Bell played for Brown before. I also think that Richardson stinks. He puts up numbers, sure, but I think he's like Randolph in that regard.

Valid points, but the main issue is that in the Knicks case, what TT and Mobley brought in terms of game wasn't as important as their expiring contracts. In this trade, the Bobcats may get some players that can help, but help what? There isn't really a balanced team missing a player or two like the ones they got. And for the package they gave up, I think they could've gotten more. But I guess that last part will always be there when analyzing trades.

lol@ the pusycats.

Getting JRich for the 8 pick was a ridiculous trade and they're about to make it worse. Diaw is a horribly overpaid role player. The rest of that junk isnt even worth discussing. This has LB's fingerprints all over it.

I'm sorry, somebody has got to nut up and slap the shyt of Jordan. Slap the damn taste out his mouth! Yes, he's a legend, yes you will probably be fired, yes you might even get your ass kicked --- but it would be all for the greater good. Jordan has been getting burnt on GM decisions since he put on "the suit"...he'd probably thank you for it later once the sting subsides and he regains some clarity.

My thoughts exactly. First, they pass on Lopez to pick a small pg when they already had a small pg (although admittedly Augustin has looked solid) and now they trade Richardson for two overpaid role players. This was either an LB trade or the Bobcats are trying to cut costs.

Diaw is no PF. As far as talent goes, Harrington is more talanted than any of the players the Bobcats got back. I think the pieces we got back are better fits for MDA than ZAch and Craw, but the main element are the contracts....So we kind kind of got helped on both ends, talent and cap-space.

I dot see them Bell and Diaw as great fits particulary when you consider that its been impied that Bell has clearly lost a step. And Diaw has just benn plain lost since he signed that contract. I just see it as LB being compulsive as usual, and feeling a need to shake things up for the sake of shaking things up. I'm so sure this plan was as well thought out as Walsh's plan.

BTW....I thought one of the resons Kerr fired MDA was because he wanted bring in a coach who would stress defense? If that was the main reasoning, why trade off perhaps your two best defenders for a player know more for his offensive exploits? I dont get it. This, on paper, makes them weaker on defense.

THey sucked with JRich. The chemistry does not work with JRich and Wallace on the team.

Jrich is a scorer no doubt, but his chemistry was not there, and not under larry.

Diaw was great under MikeD, and he might bring it back again if Larry can use him proper.

Its not like the Cats were piling up wins, this team is still finding iteself.

The true idiocy of the deal was the Cats trading for him to begin with. Jordan sucks. They went "win now" which is ok, but gotta do it with the right talent.

I was watching Philly-Clev last nite and Philly does have a nice team but they play like boneheads all in a contract year. Larry should have hung out for one more year and he could have had Cheeks job. I like Mo Cheeks and hope he can get it together because on paper they are a nice team. But as we all know a collection of talent does not equate success.

Cavs on the other hand have great ball movement and are playing like a fine tuned unit.

The offense is not just clear out anymore for lebron and he has learned to involve his players. He wants to win and you can see it.

As far as the Suns, they have to get rid of Mikes players because they want to run and pass. This is all about this and next season for the Suns. When Nash and Shaq are expired, they will have a boatload of cash in 2011. Not a bad plan mind you, but what made Nash and the suns special is all be gone now from the team.

MikeBall has yet to win a championship so its not like they gave up hallowed personel.

Larry moved a Francis on Jordan. Now he and his minions will use to explain how Jordan makes foolish moves. All that is left, is the retirement talk from Brown and complaints about his prostate.

Jason Richardson is a perfect example of a "my points first" type of player that does very little to make his team better. Phoenix is a worse team after this trade.

Boris Diaw got that contract because he played for D'Antoni who makes many players look better than they really are. That's why Phoenix is not very good anymore and Porter may be fired. Because he is just NOT our coach. We're playing with SIX guys and still beating teams like Detroit and NJ.

What I do wonder, is if we have anything to trade for Raja Bell. Other than Jerome James, which I'm sure Larry Brown is dying for, I don't see it.

What is it with Phoenix? They run Mike out of town and tell the coach to slow it down and play defense. Now they get a shoot only player cuz the offense sucks.

Well, whats it gonna be?

Nash, Amare and exiting players not saying good things.

They miss Mike. They loved mike.

Mike ours now.

They ran colangelo out when new owner came in. Then mike.

Granted, its not like they were stacking rings, but they did get phucked over by refs in when Nash was checked and they suspended Amare. That was there time and it did not work out. Should have kept Mike and kept tweeking. They might as well trade Nash as they are taking away his strenghts.

Steve Kerr is trying to recreate te prototypical 1990s team... bigs with a low post game and guards that can score on the perimeter. Too bad Shaq is 27 years past his prime, Nash has 457,278 miles, Amare doesn't play defense, and Richardson is completely average.
