Door A: I walk through the door expecting Knicks news. Everytime I walk through the door someone hits me in the face with a baseball bat.

Door B: I walk through door B expecting Knicks news and I get it.

Some people continue to walk through Door A and then complain about how they keep getting hit in the face with a bat even though Door B is a better alternative. Others just completely ignore Door A because they realize their are better alternatives and that Door A is a waste of time and provides them with nothing.

Who are you? A person that walks through Door A, or a person who walks through door B.

Remember there is no requirement to walk through every door that is in front of you.
I just hope that people will like me

I got a brilliant idea... b/c it's so tempting to click on his stories be/c it's like looking at a car wreck, someone should be the designated berman reader who goes to the post site, copys the story and pastes it here... that would eliminate him getting clicks to impress advertisers ... plus we wouldn't have to deny ourselve the masochistic need to read his cr#p.

Relatively easy to set up and Earl pretty much gave the text. Anyone want to set it up?

I guess mail it to everyone, post it down knicks related articles that let you comment, post it on realgm and perhaps even ESPN forums.

I usually don't like these types of actions, who knows if Berman has any mouths to feed. But the dude has gone too far and then some and hopefully something like this would create some accountability in reckless reporting.

This reminds me of the ever successful "Sell the Knicks Dolan, Sell the Knicks!"

LOL This might be the most optimal idea. I don't want that job. Evertime I see that oaf, I get violently mad.

A Draft - for the polite version (feel free to cut apart and change)

Feel free to edit this:

Mr Berman,

As a beat writer for the New York Knicks, your responsibility is to cover the New York Knicks. This is what the position demands, as your responsibility is to communicate this point directly to one of the most impassioned fan bases in all of professional sports. Your responsibility is not to Stephon Marbury, nor is it to misrepresent how the tea leaves read.

We, the posters of ultimateknicks.com, would offer that Walsh acquisitions of Al Harrington and Tim Thomas are proving visionary. Harrington embraces both leadership and his return home. Thomas actually took it strong to the rack. The defense—there actually is defense!—is cohesive and will improve as the players gain trust.

Seven players compete short-handed and, like it or not, have moved on without Marbury. There have been plenty of trends we feel that deserve coverage, Mr. Berman. Chris Duhon threads the needle to an active David Lee time and time again. Wilson Chandler blossoms before our eyes. Quentin Richardson has finally reemerged, even using his big butt at guard. Jared Jeffries takes a hard charge the second game back from a broken leg. What about Lee's 19 rebounds or how Harrington chased 'Sheed Wallace around like he stole something? It is our humble request that this be included in your coverage.

Marbury to Real Madrid. Who cares? The organization has moved on from Marbury, and so too has the fanbase. Those seven hard-working Knicks are beginning to bond, despite the drama and outside agendas. We thank them for the effort against the odds and feel this warrants coverage.

This franchise on the mend and you are missing the beat.

Sincerely,
The posters of ultimateknicks.com

Trust me, they'll find it. Associating with a bunch of idiots doesn't bolster our claims or goals. This should be sent to Hahn, as already pointed out, because the two of them have beef.

Supreme. It's a nice letter. It may even be read by Berman. No way it gets taken seriously. You're attacking him for not writing positive things about the Knicks, which he doesn't have to do. He has to cover the Knicks. You got to attack him for falsely reporting certain information (Like when he said Jamal was talking smack about Marbury, when Jamal came out and said he didn't).

With that said, even if you write something business like to the extreme, Berman will still view it as fanmail. The best way to hit him is to ignore him and not even click his articles. You can threaten to kill him, his wife and his dog and he'll be happy b/c 1) He knows you wont. 2) He's getting attention. That's all that matters to him.

How about we offer to bribe the NY Post... convince some Knicks sites to offer up free advertising space to the Post if they fire Berman or at least take him off the Knicks' beat...

Should be easier to dump Berman after the Knicks buyout Marbury... I mean, Berman's exclusive with Marbs is a bit less of an asset to the Post if Marbury isn't in NY.

You know I gonna spin wit it

If you threaten to boycott the page and the papers and the effect is really felt in The Post, something could happen, but for that to happen you need to aim not at the Post or at Berman, but at the readers. Make a site, blog or whatever about how much you hate him and how important it is for fans to stop reading him no matter what. If people DO that, you might have something.

But again, that may backfire and give Berman even more publicity...

Dear Mr. Berman,

I just wanted to write to thank you for your astounding contribution to the profession of Journalism. You have truly inspired generations of sports writers, who will follow and continue to revere you down through the ages. The fact that you have not received a Pulitzer for your groundbreaking work is truly a travesty.

Your reporting on Stephon Marbury in particular has been fair and accurate. More than fair. Don't let the haters tell you otherwise. I don't think there is anyone better when it comes to reporting on Stephon Marbury.

It is my intention therefore to start a petition and a letter writing campaign to the Post to suggesting - nay, insisting - that you be allowed to accompany Stephon to wherever his illustrious career may next take him, as I'm sure would be your wish.
Sincerely,

BasketballJones

On second thought, the entire Murdoch/Fox News/ NYPost is so journalistically bankrupt that bippity has an excellent point about putting them on permanent ignore. As knicksfan states, aim not at The Post/Berman, but aim at alternative sites that should be rewarded with more viewership.

UK should outline a clear platform, a position paper that documents the Post bias. Then petition the Knicks Marketing Department for a media credential and season pass at the press table. Make the case to the franchise as a concerned body and then bitch slap Berman with high-quality alternative coverage.

Make gossip obsolete.
