Blaming Roberson for the state of the Knicks is like saying Gabe Pruitt won the ring for the Celtics last year.

I don't think anyone is blaming Roberson for the state of the knicks. We just look at him as wasted space, the other guys are making big dollars, so you can at least understand why a buyout isn't in the works. But his small salary is nothing and combine that with we need help at that position means he needs to go.

I for one think NY is playing decent ball considering what we are working with. There are few games we let go that we really could have won. Last night they just look like they ran out of steam, that's evident on the wide open 3's they gave up in the last few minutes. They can't keep running the team down like this, release roberson and sign someone else that can at least help.

Both Balkman & Ewing would help with providing energy off the bench, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

And Roberson is one reason we don't have either player on the roster right now.

Neither Balk or Ewing Jr are as good as JJ2 as far as team D.

Hahaha. Martin, JJ2's defense is vastly overrated. Didn't we already have this discussion. Lebron drops 30+ points on this fool in the playoffs and Eddie Jordan goes on about how great defense Jeffries played. He blows defensive assignments, provides late help defense and more comfortable guarding a 6'5" on the perimeter than he is manning the post with his 6'11" frame. He is horrible shotblocker for a player his size (Balkman still leads him in that category and I suspect PEJ would too). He is a 6'11" SG that can't shoot or slash.

Yeah but since JJ2 is our C now, given how small and depleted at C we are, it would be an improvement to have better D, say, in place of Q-Rich.

Practically a 6'11 Roberson with better D. Thats why we don't want to keep him, but make him look so good someone will trade for him. That may be hard but anything can happen in the NBA.

I don't have that take. And LeBron dropping 30+ on anyone is not an argument, dude can do that on anyone.

funny but i was accused of making a big deal over nothing a few weeks ago... now we got Duhon playing 48 minutes a night because this sorry excuse for an NBA player can't even give us 5 minutes of productive play on the court & taking up a roster spot while he's at it... it's ridiculous... get rid of this guy now & sign someone who can actually play basketball at this level.

Simple for me: if you're not gonna use this kid at all, waive him and get someone in here who you trust and who you want to give mins. to. Roberson signed for roughly $798,000 for the entire season with a team option for next yr. So 21 games into the season already, were only talking about waiving approx. $594,000 dollars if we severed ties with Roberson right now. Talk about chump change. I mean it's rediculous. How much money did Dolan make in last Sunday's home game against Detroit on ticket sales alone - over $1 million dollars at least, and that's not even counting concession sales. What the hell are we talking about here??? Open up the roster spot and get someone in here already. What the hell, are we gonna play only 7 guys a game for the rest of the season??? And then you waive Marbury as well, forget the buyout. If he's still willing to concede $1 million you take it and buy him out. If not, just release the guy already. I know that'll sting a lot more and it's a lot of money that they wouldn't be getting any return on. Granted it's not really good business but same idea applies - if you have no intention of playing him, which they clearly don't - they told the guy to go home for Christ's sake!!!! - then he's gotta go. By sending him home, they have no intention of getting any return on his $20 mil. anyway, so again I ask you, what's the point? Why clog two roster spots for guys that aren't gonna play anyway??

Open up the two spots and go get Justin Williams and another guard for the rest of the season. Otherwise, Duhon's legs are gonna fall off here. You wanna see that happen Donnie?? WTF?

Amazing Roberson's contribution tonight:

DNP - Coach's Decision and horrible shots of him on TV celebrating every basket the Knicks made.

So Walsh, really, you got this guy so he would cheer us up? Don't you see? DLee injured tonight and we are down to 6 guys. SIX!

Buy Roberson out

dude, he didn't get any burn in a game we were leading by 30 in DET last week... if that's not when u play a garbage time player, when is? MDA obviously doesn't think too much of this guy... why is he here again?

Maybe because its a Walsh signing and his ego is bigger than reason?? I hope not, because Walsh has to know by now that the Roberson experiment is a failure and that the Knicks need to move on. Walsh needs to get the guy outta here.
