And BRIGGS makes a good point about needing to pay him in 2010 but I think that would be a good problem to have especially if the team is being run well.

so it makes sense to trade a guy cuz he might play well going into his FA season 2 years from now? that's ridiculous logic... BRIGGS just can't let go of his man crush on Marcus Williams.

21points , 6 assists and 5 rebounds after three quarters - without any rest

and you want to trade him because your trade checker tells you to?

c'mon.

If it was Gallinari with those numbers he would be nominated for Pope.

crzymdups - are you crazy?

Chris Duhon and his 25 points 9 asissts and 5 rebounds in 48 minutes needs to be on the first jet outta here.

Marcus Williams clearly would be an upgrade.

How about trading Briggs to RealGM.com for a black and white 8x10 of Beyonce and bag of cheetos to be named later?

Chris Duhon is a warrior

Please, Walsh, make it happen!! Or in this case it would be Martin trading?

there is though, something about the effect D'Antoni has on PGs. No one thought Duhon was this good.

And I doubt he would look this good anywhere else.

And while it would be great to sell high, and trading Duhon like Briggs suggests would be doing just that, I don't think we can trade Duhon and not have the team collapse. Better to keep him and make others look good so perhaps at the deadline, we could trade Curry, JJ2 or Harrington for either more cap space or perhaps a young player/draft pick.

Actually that wouldn't be such a bad thing. People are going to make Duhon into God now when he is just a backup being used a starter. He's a solid player but not a world beater by any stretch. Brandon Wright has a lot of potential and already blocks shots. Marcus Williams is a filler. But where BRIGGS goes wrong once again is that he considers what we would want and has no common sense. Why would Golden State trade for another guard? They are high on Wright and don't need another guard. You need to stop the new topic for every thought that pops into your head.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

After the crap we've suffered through since 99, I would love to have Duhon as the point guard for the next 10 years

he picked him as the "best PG in the draft" a couple years back & hasn't yet come to grips that he was wrong about him.

selling 1 of our best players right now for the trash BRIGGS suggested is selling high in your eyes? if he'd suggested trading Duhon to a bad team looking for a PG for their 1st rounder, i could see the logic.

If the fear is that Duhon will play so well next season that we won't be able to sign him for 7 millions, wouldn't the most intelligent thing be keep him and at the trading deadline of next season or in the offseason trade him and get much more value than right now? We have more important things to do than look to trade Duhon.

Of course.

Lee is the biggest issue right now in regards to resigning, trading him early, risking losing him for nothing, risking a high priced sign and trade of him - etc.

The Duhon situation needs not to be visited until next season IMO. If he plays so well he outprices himself for us? So be it...but we'll worry about that NEXT year not this year.

I wasn't endorsing Briggs trade specifics, just commenting on the notion of being open to trading Duhon.

I really like the potential of Branden Wright--I think he would be awesome in this system and we could put M Williams into the PG position and that 2nd rounder would be almost as good as a low 1. The coup de grat would be Wright. I don't think posters understand that Chris Duhon will VERY VERY likely will not be a Knick in 2010. If we were willing to go for cap space early in trades--now I want to go for quality assets especially young players I believe can be part of a new core and are salary restricted. If I could get Bayless and a pick from Portland for Lee Wright Williams and a pick from GS--I would do it tomorrow and concentrate on raising the value of Jefferes and Curry. You do something you do it all the way.

i don't think there's anyone on this roster who's an untouchable either, but u gotta get back more than that if u wanna trade Duhon right now... he's playing outta his mind & u'r talking about trading him for 2 minor role players & a worthless 2nd rounder that u can buy for cash if u really want one... if ur not getting a better player than Wright or at least a decent 1st round pick, why bother?
