Look at it like this. This is basically the equilalent of us gathering in an auditorium, with people of both genders, all ages, religions and race. The person starting a thread is the man getting on stage to speak on the mike, and you shout "CRAWFORD RAPED RAY ALLEN!"

How do you think most people would react in that scenario?

First of all, in basketball terms.. "Rape" just means Abused.. so it can be used in any context... dunking on, fouling, or crossing someone up like Jamal did... Anything you do that abuses/embaress's your defender.

And if someone got on a stage like that and shouted "Crawford raped ray allen" i'd laugh and yell bak "HELL YEA HE DID!!!" lol

Unless of course your sister was raped that afternoon, then of course you would be a little more sensitive than that. We all have different experiences in life. Although I wasn't the least bit offended by the title and laughed when I opened the thread up, I also respect where Allan is coming from. You aren't hanging out with your boys, so sometimes it make sense to choose your words a little differently. Not criticizing, just suggesting.

I understand, I just dont take it that seriously... But this is the age old debate.. what is appropriate for some is not for others.. what can ya do

But really why do u care if u r not even offended by it? just cuz u know its "not appropriate" ? I dont know.. with shows like South Park on basic cable for the past 10 years or so (Family guy now on regular TV) I find it funny that people still go ape**** over a little cussing

I won't say I was offended; I will say you have a history of poor word choice on this forum. At some point you should stop making excuses for your conduct and start improving it.

I just think it's common sense. There are just certain things I try to stay away from when it comes to jokes in a public forum where I don't know everyone. Now, I'm not perfect and have definitely made jokes in these categories I do try to steer away from joking about rape, molestation, suicide etc, because you never know who has experienced that personally. To me, it's just common sense. I've posted with you long enough to know that you have a pretty extensive joke book(not a funny one, but extensive), so it should not be an issue to steer clear of topics that could hurt someone you don't know. I personally know that there is at least one person on this site that has experienced two of these things personally. Maybe I'm just being too protective of them, but I just think it's good practice to steer clear of certain things out of courtesy(not censorship)

jesus u guys need 2 relax a little... Anyone who is offended by this post must be offended every single day just walking down the street, watching TV, living life... Cuz far more offensive **** goes on all around us so you either have a sense of humor or you shift your attention elsewhere

Elite, look at it like this. Briggs was obviously offended by it, and you didn't seem to understand why. I was simply clarifying why you should watch your wording, but you still don't seem to comprehend, so I wont further argue with you. I guess this is something you have to learn on your own.

Like I said, not many of us are offended, me included. Briggs did seem it though, and it's understandable why. Some people don't like associating that word (Understandably so) with a game that brings joy to our lives.

Kind of like how I don't think people should be calling certain players "Cancer."

I just find life more enjoyable when i let things roll off my back... But everyone is different, and I respect that.. so sorry briggys

Thats my personality, like i said.. I let things roll off myback and try to enjoy myself. You on the other hand seem to choose the tight-assedness approach. Hope thats working out well for you
