its hard for people to accept the great mike d is either extremely dumb, a snake of the Isiah order, or extremely bi-polar.

apparently it's hard for you to accept the same of Marbury, things the rest of us have known about him for a long time now.

unbelievable he still has fans

i don't get it either... the guy has spit in all our faces time & time again w/his selfish & moronic behavior... he's sabotaged entire seasons because of his childishness & idiotic ego & pride... yet there are Knick fans out there that still think he's a victim in all this... un-freakin-believable.

Nobody is denying Marbury's past history. But what exactly has he done in this situation to deserve the large amount of blame being cast on him?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Ohh he isn't responsible or anything this season. He is a sweet angel this year.

please explain how Steph is the cause of this drama.

reporting to camp in shape and or time?

playing the pre-season in the role coach he had for him?

not running to the press about his displeasure with being benched?

accepting the de-activation?

reporting to the game dressed and taped to play when instructed prompting the Milwaukee crowd to chant "we want steph"?

refusing to leave an undisclosed amount of millions on the negotiating table?

declining an alleged offer to play after being told you are not a part of the present nor future?

not incriminating himself in the papers while his buy-out is being negotiated?

First, Marb declared early in traingin camp that he aint comming off the bench in NY.

"I'm not coming off the bench here in New York," Marbury said. "

Nor is he willing to take less than the $21.9 million if approached about a buyout. Nevertheless, Marbury said he would donate any new contract money to charity.

"Why is (a buyout) even an issue," Marbury said. "It's my contract. I earned it. I wouldn't take a penny less."
Thats drama number #1

When asked a second time to play vs Detroit Marb reportedly said his heart wasn't in it. But Marb is the same guy that said this...."
I don't want to go through any more distractions," Marbury told The Post. "I want all of us to concentrate on winning and not if I'm going to start or not. I want us to be able to go forward. If the Knicks want me to come off the bench, that's what I'm going to do. I just want to win a championship in New York because we as New Yorkers deserve a chip."

Regardless of what beef you have with upper management or the coach. Those 12-15 guys in the lockeroom have nothing to do with it. Those are the guys you are in the bunker with going to war with and you dont turn your back on them when they need you. And what do these deserving NY's who chanted his name have to do with this beef. Why not jump at the chance to suit up and play for these desrving fans?

Last I checked, D'Antoni aint running to the press. He's required to talk the press after each game. They ask, he answers honestly. I only fualt D'Anotni for asking Marb to play. If anything, he should just tell him to dress and call his number. The only problme with that is, Marb's heart aint in it so he might have refused to give effort like he did in Orlando when LB was the coach.

Discussing who is responsible for this situation is silly as you can certainly take your emotions aside and see that BOTH parties have handled this situation terribly, from Mike D'Antoni not telling Marb he wasn't in his season and future plans, Dolan not willing to buy him out for all his contract before the season started, Walsh for not knowing the plans and working a better one for both Marbury and the Knicks, Marbury not able to negotiate a shorter buyout even considering the difference would be paid by his new team, Marbury also turning down offers to play and better his image with everybody when he is actually paid to play even if he is or isnt in his teams plans.

Im sorry but as I know D'Antoni has played this terrible and I hate that because I wanted to believe this new regime was difference, is ignorant to believe Stephon has no responsibility in this situation apart from what he did in the past. This was a blunder that started with Mike D probably believing Marb was gonna be bought out and Walsh and Dolan didn't deliver, but Marbury's childish behavior in not wanting to play when he is still getting paid to and then call all that his money when he isn't earning it when the teams wants him to play, those are terrible mistakes from him.

I can se things clearly without letting my emotions confuse me, unlike some of you say. But I think that siding with any part of this issue shows you don't get the whole picture and Im still amazed so many people still side with Marbury because he definitely is as responsible as the rest.

poor Steph... it's not his fault... he's just a victim.

excuse me while i hurl.

You're buying?

If true wouldn't this be an admission the first request was only for a 1 game stint, borrowing time for Mobley?

Ironic that Mobley needs more tests.

Our GM states he possibly may never play for our team.

In just a matter of one 1 week and 2 practices, Marbury after supposedly turning down the first offer of 30-35 min was then trusted and given another offer for a starting spot for the rest of the season?

You seriously can't be buying this?

[Edited by - GallOfFame on 11-27-2008 9:30 PM]

buying what? i think Marbury's a poison & i never expected him to put aside his idiotic pride to play a few meaningless games (from his perspective)... nothing he ever does surprises me anymore... i've always said the sooner he's far away from the Knicks, the better off we are & i hold to that opinion... i don't care if they have to play Anthony Robersuck 40 minutes a night til Nate gets back... i don't think it serves any good for MDA to even mention his name in public either... just cut ties w/this guy completely & erase him from our memory banks... i can't stand the sight of Marbury.

If this is how you felt, which is loudly obvious to almost everyone, why is he being enabled when after 3 weeks he wasn't allowed to? Also why wasn't Curry asked to play 1 game until Harrington and Tim were eligible to play?

where in the hell do u see my enabling Marbury? please point out a post i've made to lead u to that conclusion... please tell me u did realize my initial post in this thread was sarcasm.

Marbury's words are completely meaningless... this wouldn't be the first time he's spouted off about just wanting to win & being willing to do what it takes to get there, & then pulls his usual selfish act & refuses to take a backup role... the guy has zero credibility whatsoever, for anyone to give him the benefit of the doubt over anyone else is silly.

This debate of who's right and who's wrong can go on until were black and blue in the face.

IMO both sides or at fualt to some degree, they need to come to the table and figure this out going foward. Mike started it and steph seems like he's ending it, imo they both are dead wrong in there approach to each other.

Mike d needs to be smack silly for creating this, walsh needs a good foot in the ass for letting it continue to this point, and steph ( with his checkered past) needs to be punch hard in the chest for being such a stubborn pssy.

I thought demoting steph and given duhon his starting job was humilating enough, amd mike new that steph would out play duhon on most nights causing a controversy, knowing your only doing it for personal reason.

A clean slate is a clean slate but you steph haters are bias and will never be able to honestly say what you know is true. Steph should be gone ( no doubt) but if he's here he should have been playing.

that's the only non bias part of that reply.
