Stephon Marbury is officially dead to New Yorkers. He deserves no respect is a FAILED basketball player in this city. A true representative of all the skill in the world, and the maturity of a 10 year old.

I disagree with you. He's eight years old.
I'll never trust this' team again.

In my opinion the Knicks are tarnishing their franchise the way they are handling this. Love him or hate him its the Knicks that are looking small. This situation is the elephant in the room and for me, it makes it hard to root for them.

Think future in two years. Forget about now. It's not meant to be a big winning team right now. It's about making cap space.

I hear ya on the future but they need to [fill-in-cliche-here]
s hit or get off the pot
fish or cut bait
There is no need to humiliate or offer 1 game token time. As Mark Jackson would say, "we are better than that".

I beleive it's been reported that the players union is representing Marbury in buyout negotiations. That typically means we've offered him an extremely large sum of money (say 16-19M) to end this stalemate and play for another team.

If he refused that, who's the petty one?

latest report i've read says Walsh offered him a $15 mil buyout & he countered by saying he wanted every penny that was owed him on his deal... i think the talks broke down after that.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I'm still trying to figure out why this is news.......

Jerome doesn't cry, Tinsley doesn't, Antoine Walker doesn't.....Tinsley and Walker actually want to play again at a high level.

Every single roster has at least one guy making decent money and will never play a game for the team he's on. Sam Cassell was one of them last year on the Celtics.

Yeah so this is not news worthy. I think us diehard fans should ignore it until something is done.

If anything......this shows that the Knicks will not tolerate certain behavior and they are dedicated to the Knicks and don't care what anyone thinks.

D'antoni and Walsh were the right guys for their respective jobs. D'antoni's pre/post game chatter is pure golden. So is Donnie's act of playing dumb.....golden.

It's amazing. We have a player who wont accept a buyout, but also wont play when given a chance, leaving himself no place to go but the far end of the bench, yet people feel sorry for him that that's where he finds himself.

I know, it's baffling. And who would want to pick him up after putting his team and management through hell? I can see why Mike stabbed first, because he didn't want to be stabbed first. Who can blame him?

Who was it that had the sig that said 'good luck Mike, because you ain't never seen nothing like this before'? (or something like that)

Well, Mike certainly new what to expect and he was ready for him.

It's news because it's about Marbury. He's a fascinating guy.

And we're obsessed with him.

I'm not obsessed. I'm fascinatingly baffled by him. Plus we need something to bitch about.

Man, i'd like to disagree. I think MDA didn't play him because of what he brings on the court. When trying to change a culture, change a teams approach and install a new system that all about sharing the ball and being good teammates what could be worse than Marbs? Your shots might not fall one night, they might fall the next. Players might have a hard time grasping plays or whatever. Its pretty obvious what steph brings with him every day and thats the opposite of how MDA wants his players to play. I don't think its about what he did to us last year or the last few years, i don't think thats a part of it. Its not personal, its just about putting the best guys on the floor. As far as Marbs getting what he deserved from the fan's perspective-that might be just karma, i dunno.
