Marbury's under contract to play basketball for the Knicks. Since he refused to play he should lose/be fined? for 1 game's salary! I hope Donnie does this and let's see what Marbury does when he doesn't get "all of His Money."

i'm sure he's gonna come up w/some BS story about how he had permission to decline to play tonite.

I don't buy it if he does. It must have been a lot of pride to swallow for D'Antoni to even ask Marbury to play. D'A is very proud and a hot-tempered general. So I think Donnie must have first talked with D'A to approve this and convince D'A to ask Marbury. Fine Marbury double!!

It seems that somebody isn’t being truthful.
Who are you going to believe? Go ahead, vent. Do you think Marbury should even be allowed to sit on the bench now?

The question is: Did they really wanted to play Marbury? Or did they expect him to react this way and have more arguments against him?

D'Antoni should not have offered Marbury playing time in this manner. It doesn't matter what Marbury did last year or the year before. He got jerked around this season and this was another jerk around type of maneuver.

Fair is fair. Either a player is part of the plan in one way or another and playing or he isn't. If D'Antoni wanted him to be part of the team going forth he should have made that clear.

Marbury may have poor character, but he was well within his rights to refuse to play. D'Antoni does not have the right to walk all over Marbury, and he should have kept quiet about the exchange if he really wasn't mad.

Except the player was given liberty to be a Coward, whereas the suits Chose to be one in this case.

He never should have been asked to play.

Is Mobley, Tim, and Harrington part of the future?

The contracts of those 3 players should answer your question.
