Homie, you're arrogant sometimes. I think there's plenty of threads you could have put this in, but I guess you need the spotlight or something. Whatever, ill let you breathe and do what it is you do...

You cannot stand pat and not make this move just because you're scared its going to fail, because we werent going anywhere as currently constructed and there was no end in sight. We could really hit big, but as others have said there are plenty of other free agent alternatives in 2010 so its unlikely we'll come up empty handed.

Point is, we have major options and flexibility at this point. Plus we rid ourselves of this losing culture that has set in.

I assume your talking to me? And don't act like you been on this progression the whole time. You wanna sit around and hit it big, you go right ahead. And I wasn't even talking to you. Yeah, that's right' I'll say what I think, i'll speak my mind with or without your permission.

There are those who will push for 'win now' and those who will sit for twenty years, hoping to god to land the #1, but I'm one of those who believe in making the cap right and opening up our options. And that is exactly what is taking place right now.

Hey, just because I'm right most of the time, doesn't make me arrogant - snot nose! The same guy that feels sorry for Cleveland. Sheeezzz
I'll never trust this' team again.

I wouldn't be too worried about handing out #1 picks any time soon. TT, Mobley and Harrington all shoot the 3, at a career 37%, 38% and 36% respectively. Q is at 39% this year, Nate at 42% and Duhon at 35%. So, now you have legitimate 3 point shooting, potentially at every position. That is, 1-5. And you're running with Mike D'Antoni. I wouldn't be too concerned. This is a playoff team easily, if D'antoni doesn't tank it early and often (which, of course, he should).

Sure it is. We have no shot blocking and we lost an all league rebounder with nothing in return that can fill those rebounds up. When we play teams with a Bogut he's going to play ping pong with the ball while we take 30 footers. We'll win some games but this is now a team that will not only end up out of the playoffs but likely just good enough to be in s ht draft position. Like Mark Cuban said--that is the worst place to be in the nBA--either you go for it to win it all or stink up the joint. I thought we had a chance to win 45 games this year--trade the players later on if all you are getting is cap relief 2 years from now. Tim Thomas and Mobley will play in 50% of the games and IR for the other half.

If TT and Mobley stay healthy, I'll wager that we make the playoffs, rebounding or no rebounding.

If our guys end up on the IR, as you're rightfully concerned about, then I agree it'll be a struggle. But its a struggle I'd gladly bear when compared to the alternative - which at best gave us a short and ugly playoff stint accompanied by an equally dissatisfying pick in the draft.

That is the question and also what you mentioned before about not getting back a pick or player. I don't understand us not getting back Bellinelli (or whatever his name is from GS). We did give up the better player.

I look at it essentially like this: This year we will probably suck but maybe not enough to get a top 5 pick. But perhaps, just perhaps, we can still do some moving of players. We can still package Lee to move Curry (but who knows, maybe Curry starts playing now and raises his value - it can't get any lower). So, I'm hoping after we see what this team does (and probably raise the value of some of these players) we start "condensing" what we do have and try to build something with some decent younger players.

I really hope Gallo's back works out cause he could be a great cog in the wheel and efficient player in this system. Roberson is going to get minutes and if he continues to suck it up we can eat his contract for Ewing JR, at least he'll get some developmental time. Jefferies... well, we will see.

Now we have time on our hands for this year, that is at least the good part.

Then sign Amare, Dirk, Yao, Redd- there's a lot of players out there. At least then you have options. Lets say you didn't make those trades. Then what?

those guys don't bring us a championship. No thanks!

Sign one good player like Redd and wait a year and sign Dwight Howard. If this and perhaps what VDesai mentioned are your *worst* options, then you picked a smart strategy with good odds. If Briggs wants a risk free strategy, he simply chose the wrong sport to follow.

Lebron in 2010, Dwight in 2011.

Keep the picks, Don't over pay for parts, and keep drafting young euros and let them stay a year or so in Euroland to develope.

Lebron is more valuable in NY and his sponsers know it. They will pay for the upgrade.

this is far from over. Walsh isnt a fool.. he's going to look to grow this teams talent. When that offseason comes he will attack the bigname guys right away. If we swing and miss there are still the 2nd tier guys who are very good. If that doesnt work you can still make trades that take on a ton of money. Point is you have a ton of options now. We were not winning anything more than a low playoff berth with the Crawford/Zach regime.

Walsh has proven his patience wins out. Lets see whats next.

the light was always there... just not down with giving up picks or young guys like Lee for the sake of cap space. I give Walsh all the credit in the world. He brought in MDA, and got the two Isiah guys with the worst deals playing at a level high enough for other teams in the league to take them on. Its really impressive to me he was able to do that. Not to mention I dont think we took a big talent hit. I think short term Mobley will be better than Crawford because he is a solid defender and Harrington will flourish in the uptempo game.

i was more referring to the fact that u now see that 2010 is not all about Lebron James.
