Why?

because i hate seeing scrubs like that soiling the Knicks' reputation everytime they put on that uniform... they both stink & i'm embarassed to have to root for guys like this... funny that you have such a problem w/my choice of terminology when it comes to some players on this team... u think "Big Turd" & "Fishlips" is even close to as bad as some of the labels other guys have been using around here? what upsets u so much over my use of those labels, anyway? are u a collector of fish? did your mom buy you a goldfish tank that u used to kiss every morning before leaving for kindergarten when u were growing up? what is it? how does my use of the term "Fishlips" offend you is what i'd like to know... & moreover, why do u even care what my reasons are for using it?

I'm *almost* upset at myself now for bringing it up. Can we just all try to stay away from inflammatory words that denigrate entire demographics, regardless of what they are? I wouldn't tolerate comments about Thomas's race. Nor do I find this language acceptable. Maintain the higher ground. It doesn't have to be all warm and fuzzy. I mean, I share Solace's view on Tim Thomas.

i've been calling Jerome James Big Turd for years & no one's had a problem with it... what u got against being referred to as Fishlips? the guy's lips look like a fish, hence the label... if u don't find it funny, i could give a rat's arse... don't call me out & then act like ur not insinuating some sh!t to try & be clever.

I think it's hilarious! And then to be called out on fish lips is even funnier!

This place is pretty tame, so what if the rhetoric gets a little hot or heated sometimes. So what if some people are called out their name occasionally...this isnt the Playhouse Disney forum.

We're all grown men here, at least in age number. People can handle themselves. No need to be overly sensitive, because I rarely see this place get out of control, if ever. The site is well maintained, and the posters are pretty well mannered. You should see how folks act on other sites.

Oh silly me. I didn't realize part of being a grown man was accepting the free use of the word faggot. Here I was thinking it was about standing up for principle, and such.

I'm not trying to armchair moderate. Not my place. I just think it's appalling that y'all seem to think that's an acceptable word when, statistically speaking, one of our poster friends is gay.

You know what, you guys are right. I read Supreme Commander's post wrong initially. I thought he was talking about the tone of the board in general, when he was just specifically talking about that one comment. His point is very valid and I misunderstood. My bad.
