Core rotation with a chance at being a fringe all-star if he improves his game in the next few years. Never going to be anywhere near elite.

I'm impressed with his growth but I'm starting to wonder about his becoming a black hole on offense.
This system is about movement. Wilson is now one less guy who is seeking to move the ball. Not a trend I want to see. http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

Good upside for sure. If he could rebound and shoot like KVH but clutch that would be a plus.
Downside is Tim Thomas/Q Woods type of talent waste. |

His coach wants him to shoot the ball more. He stated that after the last game. Somebody had to take the shots. Passing is great if you can or are willing to take the shot when you're open. Crawford shot 4 times in the game, 4 times. What happen the ball couldn't find him more than that?

Posted by Pharzeone: Yes, but, shoot within rhythm, not force shots which he has clearly begun to do. He has some nifty moves and he's gotten away with some of his forced shots but it's simply not a trend I want to see a young player get comfortable with. It can lead down a bad road. Crawford was an example I brought up from games where he was on fire, shot 25+ times, and we still lost because when he finally cooled nobody else even knew what a basketball was anymore because they had not touched it. I am not talking about Crawful's pitiful performance tonight whatsoever. I think the Celtics effectively took him out of the game and he seemed content to not try to find a way out of it. Yet, there are nights when a guy like Crawford only gets the ball 4 times, IS doing well, but only gets it 4 times because a guy like Chandler or Zach feels the need to shoot the ball every time they get it. It's not a good thing. These guys are talented and can make shots but it's useless if they are the ONLY ones making a shot in any given game - ESPECIALLY - when they're desire to shoot every time has taken everyone else out of the game. Again, when they cool off, or take a seat, THEN WHAT? Yeah, the opposition goes on a huge run. That has to stop whether it's Crawford or Zach or Chandler deciding it's time for them to feel comfortable gunning away on a play that only saw ONE pass over the half court line - TO THEM - where they then jacked a shot against no matter what was guarding them. http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

The concept of ball movement in modern basketball is not realistic. That's why they put a shot clock in the game. That's when the game changed for many players and certain type of players. You can move ball as much as you want but at the end of the day someone has to take the shot. What I find most troubling is that Chandler seems to be able to penetrate and get his shot off better than his guards. Hell even Z-Bo seems more effective at taking his man off the dribble. That's the problem.

![]() He needs to continue to play...he lacks consistancy...but when he is on like tonight? yeah man he's good. His little spin move is really beautiful to watch. Subscribe to my Podcast https://youtube.com/c/DiehardknicksPodcast

Posted by Pharzeone:Posted by GKFv2: What? Are you kidding me? Gallinari has played 3 games in limited minutes in the NBA. Chandler is entering his second year and playing heavy minutes. A guy hasto play first before you can judge his talent. Recognize that Ms. Cleo. Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Chandler's already a good player and a solid starter. He plays good d, has a pretty good jump shot, his ball handling has improved, he has good moves and rebounds well for a three, but a little light for a four. This is very good progress for a second year player who is 21 years old. I think the Shawn Marion comparison is good, but I don't think he'll be the rebounder that Marion has been.

Posted by Ira: Agree. Don't think he will be as good a rebounder or defender as Marion but he will be close. More importantly, he will be a better scorer than Marion. Assuming he wins the starting SF spot in the next 2 years, I think he will be a 21 pt, 8 rb, 1.5 stl, 1 block type of player, which is a Jefferson/Butler type level. I would be happy with that, especially from the 23rd pick. Trust the Process

TheGame, I agree. Those numbers are very realistic. He's an instinctive scorer who's capable of some 30+ point games when he gets hot. He's developing some nice moves around the basket.

Its the kind of body control and athleticism that separates the good players from the great ones and to still have touch on that shot to get all net is impressive. again at tone point, even with pierce out there, he was the best player on the court. His defense on pierce was suffocating, made him take tough shots and pierce got bailed out on a foul call. I was just thinking. Imagine if the knicks had another player on the floor at that point that could create and get some baskets, but do so efficiently, a guy like Brandon roy comes to mind... or even a kevin martin... boy we need to upgrade a couple of positions.. I agree with TMS on the Caron Butler comparison. Less SG skills but more forward skills. Caron might be slightly more tenacious though.
Man I wish we drafted Caron in 2002, or Boozer with #25. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.
