I don't think anyone was wrong about Chris Duhon's talent. There are plenty of more talented guys in the NBA. He is just a team player that has been well coached throughout the years (Coach K, Skiles who gets the most from his guards) that understands the game of basketball. He's the anti-Marbury. Shame we can't merge the two. Regardless, Duhon's importance shows up when you consider he's initiating the new system in place and doing quite well at this.
doing great... its turning out to be a really good signing.

Oohah I think in the case of Kidd his stats don't really tell the truth anymore. He's able to fill in on a team full of talent like the Mavs, but he doesn't have an impact as you would think. He mostly just floats. He doesn't drive, doesn't defend much past trying to steal the ball and he doesn't shoot much. Even in last nights game he was mostly invisible until the end when his experience and savvy came thru. I would say that he's part of the reason the Mavs look so dead most of the game instead of Dynamic as they used to. Devin Harris would be much better for them.

If not for Dirk having such an advantage against our small team, they would've lost that game. Kidd just doesn't add much in terms of getting them over the hump. With Duhon I think he injects himself at the right points for us. He does a lot of stuff that just doesn't make it into the stat sheet. His defense alone is much better than we've had in a long time. He gets the team setup real nice and sets the tempo.

If we ever learn how to close out games this team is gonna be alright. I think Duhon has a good idea of what to do, but it can always get better. For one thing i'd prefer he kept the ball more instead of having Jamal dribble the life out of our sets. When Duhon penetrates good things happen, so i'd prefer he took more control at the end of games.

If we had just a little bit more help we'd likely have won that game.

i'd take duhon over kidd right now. kidd's only going to get more and more worn down as the season progresses. plus he has a history, going all the way back to college, of turning against coaches or demanding a trade once things aren't progressing to his liking at a locale.

i can’t compare their head-to-head performances of last night, since I missed the game to attend a modern dance performance. and may I take this moment to remind everybody of presike’s admonition against the use of homophobic language???

Kidd is still better than Duhon. I can't believe we are really arguing this.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I can't fault a man for getting out and living in the real world, but this just reeks of middle aged desperation. Don't do it, Marv, I think even Prez will agree...

It's good to have a point who thinks first about making his teammates better. Duhon does that and does it well. When there are no opportunities out there, he can hit the open shot or drive to the hoop. He's also solid defensively. He's the guy we need at that position and the best mle signing we've had since Kurt Thomas.

Hopefully Gallo pans out, because the early returns on Walsh's major moves: D'Antoni, Duhon, keeping Zach...have been all good. Culture of the franchise is unrecognizable from a year ago.

Duhon has been great, but better than Kidd? I actually agree with Oohah here that it's a tough argument, considering all the things Kidd bring to the table, his statistical goodness, etc... even at 35.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

statistical goodness, mostly that's all that Kidd has left. Duhon played off of him all game long. Even freakin Nate was guarding Kidd and Kidd didn't really burn him.

How about the crunch time goodness when the entire Knicks team was fading and Kidd was rising? Kidd only shoots when other players suck. Nowitzki, Howard, Singleton, and Terry were doing all the scoring necessary.

I don't buy the argument that Kidd's stats are still very good but he is shot.

Duhon is a nice player. I hope we can find a way for him to stick around. He really has been a big key to the Knicks early success. I wouldn't mind him as a backup or even a starter when we are actually great again.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Thing I like about Duhon is he's gotten better every game. And contrary to popular belief before we got him, he does actually get in the lane. He can't do it at will like Stephon- but he gets in there, puts pressure on the D and sets up guys.

I think you're looking at a guy that's building confidence in this system and is gonna be a much more dynamic player by game 50.

Duhon is signed for 2 years so don't get attached. If Donnie is serious about 2010 we can't possibly keep him AND sign a LeBrawn. If we don't renounce his rights in 2010, he will represent a huge cap hold that will kill ANY cap space. We will either trade him or renounce his rights.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
