well, it would be a great deal and miami need low post scoring. the problem is whether it will stunt beasley's progress or not. marion on this squad would be unbelievable. also he would be a gun for hire and have him temporarily as we cut payroll. i rather have zach anyway. marion is the shot blocker we need as he will play power forard for us. however it is a rumor and will not materialize. it was from the post anyway so it might be berman spouting out of his mouth again fabriactions.

"According to the NY Daily News"

This dimebag magazine article quotes the NYDN as it's source. Did anybody happen to notice this trade rumor in the DN? I didn't, maybe they forgot to write the story, or a dog ate it. or, or, or....

Curry would be ideal for Miami. Riley believes in centers and Curry is very close to a dominating offensive center. We get rid of Curry's contract and now we are only 2 contracts away from being under the cap in 1 year. If they want DLee then Walsh should ask for draft pick.

my questin is this:

Marion is anything more than a salary dump??? I've heard about friction between Marino and D'Antoni first of all... Second of all, if we resign him for anything close than what hes worth.. wouldnt it be MORE than we would be paying curry and harder to get under the cap??? It sounds like a straight salary dump if it were to happen we wouldnt be actually getting Marion for more than this year... Unless we can include Jeffries or something??? I dont know...

I think it is a salary dump and chance to contend this year. You roll the dice if he really becomes a superstar here then you have a 2nd banana to go with LeBron in 2010 and sign him

I saw it and declined to even mention it cuz it didnt seem worth it.....with that said....I'd trade for Marion with the quickness. Malik and Curry for Marion does work and that deal is fair as hell....Why resign Marion? Rent that mofo and just let the fat roll off like a George Foreman Grill!!!

Wasn't it Mike D who made comments in his book about how Marion was a little too sensitive.. I remember seeing an interview where the Suns were actually a little PO'd that possibly too much info was revealed.

Yes, that is correct. Which is why I find it a little hard to believe that D'Antoni would want to coach Marion again. At the same time, Marion wouldn't be overshadowed by Amare and Nash here, so maybe he would be happy in NY.

Either way, if Walsh has a shot to get Marion for Curry, he has to do it either way because of the talent and value we would be getting in return along with the cap flexibility that Marion's expiring would bring.

I don't take this as much of a rumor.

Miami could let Marion expire, then have money for a possible opting out Carlos Boozer.

Or, it can get Curry with 2/3rds that money.

If the knicks can dump Curry for an expiring that is just fine with me.

I just don't see Miami giving up cap flex for Curry.

That pretty much settles it. Riley wants the dude. They would just need a point guard. They could wait till next season for all that and technically don't have to trade anybody.

Can say the same about the Knicks.

I was curious, so I checked a Miami Heat forum. This is what they are talking about

"Shawn Marion, Mark Blount, Marcus Banks for Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry"

Marion for Curry and Rose works..... or it should work(i'm not checking).

You look at the Heat and it's clear that they want to win now because they don't want Wade to walk on them. And the spurs with out 70 percent of the teams scoring pretty much has them looking like the Bobcats circa 2006. I could see both of these half court teams taking a chance on Curry.

It does work, and I posted this article and the trade of Curry and Rose for Marion in another thread yesterday.

Curry & Fishlips for Marion... GET ER DONE WALSH! lol.

Why would you do that to me it seems that Miami is the desperate one here. Not the Knicks I would give the Heat Jerome James and Curry for Marion. Its fair a deal.

ur right, what was i thinking... they might even be willing to throw in Wade if we play our cards right.

No way would I take Banks, I would take Wright though as a counter offer.

I think we ar in a better position for a trade than Miami. They are struggling and need help. They need a good point guard ---i.e. MArbury. And they need to trade Marion. At over $17 million he is way too expensive for them and very difficult to move.

We don't have to trade Marbury. We are doing just fine paying him without playing him.

And the same situation for Curry!
