I am enjoying these recent games too. Chandler is fun to watch and the long range shooting keeps me on the edge of my seat. Funny, the games look like how me and my boys play games... on PlayStation. Runnin' and gunnin'.

That said, I miss the low-post game and defense from years past... but I guess that's not in fashion so much anymore. Used to like the Pistons for that, but now Chauncey is running his ass off in high altitude. For you League Pass folks: what team right now do you think is playing that sort of game still? Like the Pistons from 4 years ago or 90s era Knicks?

It's amazing how the attitude around a team both with the fans and the players can change when there is a cultural shift and you begin to "trim the fat"(as a great man once said).

Boston, Cleveland and, believe it or not, the Lakers kind of.

Waltoni must have been butches in their previous lives 'cause that's a LOT of freakin fat! And I'm not just talking about Eddy Manatee Curry here!

I like that even in the losses there's a strong sense that the team still is trying to execute the game plan. In recent years one of the biggest frustrations was that we would lose in so many different ways. There was always something that the team did to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They would often get way down, fight back with the bench and then lose it in the end. Then there were the flat out blowouts to teams they should at least have had a chance to compete with. Forget about losing to good teams, we lost to teams that it just made no sense to lose to. Guys looked confused and frustrated.

NOW look at the team and you see something totally different. Win or lose, you get the sense that they belong on the floor. They are also starting to develop a rep for being good front runners. If they get up on a team and get hot, they're hard to deal with. For this team as presently constituted we really do live and die by our shooting. Hopefully down the line we can add more elements to the team, but for now when they shoot well, they're gonna look darned good and when the shots aren't falling they'll be a lot less impressive. Still you can see them playing hard like they did against the SPurs. They lost, but they were trying and that means a lot.

How about the effort on D too? That has picked up a lot. We still aren't a good defensive team, but you clearly see more effort on a consistent basis from these guys. I nearly spit my juice out when I saw Zach block a Duncan layup attempt!!! I've got to give a ton of credit to MDA for that.
