Lee is a great role player, not a big stat guy.

You need guys like this to win.

He has had 3 coaches in 3 years.

Team is 4-2. We gonna bitch about DLee now?

I think there's 2 guys that deserve to be hammered on consistently and that's Curry and James, b/c they are not commited. Stephon is not part of the rotation anymore and it's his contract year, and he's been a good soldier with a bad boy mind. Everybody else is giving it their all, despite the many flaws.

The one thing I don't like about Lee is his agent for ruining that trade to Grizz for the prospect of drafting Mayo.

lee is inconsistent, wouldn’t you say? to an even larger degree this year. he has games of 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists with boundless energy and hustle plays where he looks like a $10M player. and he intersperses them with 4/4/0’s looking absolutely lost on the court. he's a bit baffling at this point.

"I think all of us have said he is a trade candidate if he can't improve his defense and get consistent with his jumpshot."

It's going to get interesting with Gallinari on the roster next year. It's hard to compare the two at this point, but the comparison might be made eventually.

David Lee has bene severely overrated here for 3 years, and now some guys are underating him. Now both things are happening in the same thread.

And Allanfan, there has been a lot of excuse making for Lee when he doesn't do his usual bit. He farts rainbows.

David Lee is what he is: A rebounder with limited skills. There is a lot to like about him but not enough to nut in our pants. His athleticism seems to be diminishing quickly so he better get to work on his skills and start hitting the weights.

I think he is worth about 7 million per year, and I like him coming off the bench for about 20-25 minutes per game. If he is playing more than that it means we don't have a good enough front court. That's how I like my David Lee.

We need to stop with the extremes.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I guess my point is....

If you are going to play 7 players, and these 7 players are your best 7 players...is Lee still in the conversation?

but isn’t he sometimes so much more than that? and then at other times he can’t even muster that. what gives?

what makes Lee "limited?" I also dont really think he's overvalued here as most arent thrilled with the prospect of paying him.

He brings a lot of hustle and production. He scores at 50% and has a very high rebounding rate. He is also an excellent passer and no, not anyone can find the open man.

David Lee is a part of the puzzle. Nobody is saying he will threaten to make the all star game, but he's a good player.

Much more? No I don't think so. He is all hustle. I think sometimes he is a great rebounder, and before he got fat on Moet and pusssy he was a very good finisher, really good. But that seems to be deteriorating. Nice passer but not good enough to write home about.

I don't see much else. Perhaps a really good chemistry guy.

The fact that he has few skills. But he is very good at those few skills. However, on a really good team ideally one wants a more rounded player to start.

I've read so many posts that state that Lee is a jumper away from being a top 5 forward. He is overvalued, until these first 5 games.
He brings a lot of hustle and production. He scores at 50% and has a very high rebounding rate. He is also an excellent passer and no, not anyone can find the open man.

His hustle and production have been limited to the offensive end for 3 years. His 50% scoring is 90% rebounds and dunks. Useful, but starters on good team need to be scoring threats on more than just rebounds and cuts.

David Lee is a part of the puzzle. Nobody is saying he will threaten to make the all star game, but he's a good player.

Threaten..I get it! For all of Lee's rainbow farts he still has a lot less tools than Mr. Frye....and quite a few other forwards. Bench material. I would take Paul MIllsap over him in 3 seconds flat.

If Lee works really hard on his game he may threaten to be a decent starting forward. But will it happen?

I think he would flourish offensively when DG stars getting PT, there such team players that in a wide system they will make others better. Teams want Lee not for his skills ( other then rebounding) but for he's team oriented play
