Actually if anyone should be patting themselves on the back it should be the Bip. I beleive I once said the season in which the juice card is taken away from the players and given to the coach, that will be the season we start 4-2. Use the search feature, I said it.

Coaching has been very good in the first 6 games. But the biggest change to this team so far has been a cultural shift. Juice card taken away from players. One benched for being a jerk. And another benched for being fat. This is the first coach that had the power to do this. Could you imagine if LB/Lenny/Herb benched Marbs and Curry during their seasons? They would have been shot. This coach is finally allowed to be a coach.

It's a long season though

The last time the Knicks were at least two games over .500 was when they were 16-13 under Lenny Wilkens in the 2004-05 season. That team finished 33-49.

I think it's simply too early to start putting too much into this. If they're above .500 after 30 games, then we can start talking about the improvements of a changed culture. Even then, I would urge a bit of caution, because we've seen our team completely tank in the last 20 games before, too. So let's just wait and see, first. I'm more optimistic than usual, but it's too early to tell if they're for real.

Don't forget, we're even had 23 win seasons where we had a 6 game winning streak, so too small a sample size, ultimately.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The game yesterday was a solid win. That Utah team is tough to beat because they execute so well. Missing Deron did not hurt, but the fact is we beat them. This team clearly is better at running its offense than it was last year. The defense is no better, but the offense has improved in terms of consistency. I, however, still don't see this team winning more than 35-40 games. But even that would be an improvement.

I am also patting my self on the back. Without me, the Knicks would still be struggling.

I deserve a lot of credit for all I've done to rebuild the Knicks.

SFX: crickets

I am also patting myself on the back. Without me, Mike D'Antoni would be charting deflections in Utah and Barack Obama would still be an Illinois State Senator.

i remember the posters here saying we'd finally turned the corner when we hit that stretch of wins a couple years ago & things were gonna be different... this time around i can understand the enthusiasm over the new coach's system & all but to we gotta be real here, the players are still pretty much the same guys who have posted two 20 win seasons out of the last 3, so i hope u guys don't think this is gonna be a year long trend... they're gonna start losing games again & u guys are gonna start calling for this team to be blown up once again, it's just a matter of time.

Dead on.

You have to look at the big picture. I am cautiously optimistic and quite happy about how we have played so far, but 6 games is not a season.

I really think subtracting Marbury and Curry was huge

Does this count as the team getting better with the subtraction of Dinglebury?

All i'll say is that i'm patting myself on the back with every win and good performance, cuz I felt that coaching and lineup choices were killing this team for the last 3 years. I've been dying to see what these guys would do under solid direction and leadership and so far I like what i'm seeing. We can get better too!

GO KNICKS!!! KEEP ON IMPROVING!!!!

Nix, you were bound to be right at some point. I mean you've been the same exact thing for 4 years so sooner or later the Knicks were going to turn it around.

Not that I would root for the team to lose, but it's going to be interesting to read this board after our next losing streak

Well Knick fans are scorn......

I'm gonna compare it to Barack Obama winning the election.......

Yeah we are happy he won, but its just a dream to most until we physically see him sworn into office Jan 20th!!!!

So yeah.....4-2 is premature.......6 games in? 30 games in? 60 games in? A season? Nah man why don't you try 3 straight years of wining basketball!!!!! You know it my brothers.....all the haters will be on our backs untill the Knicks have some years of success and back to back championships before we can ever get respect, lol. Hey comes with the territory

I've been a supporter of some of the talent on this team and it's not just a function of odds. I blasted the coaching we've had and I've been consistent on that. I felt this team would've shown some progress already if the coaches had been less about their own selfish goals and more about teaching this team. Now if you can't see the difference then I don't know what to tell you.

Last yr I blasted Zeke and he deserved it! 2 years ago I blasted I blasted LB, why? They both didn't put the team
1st IMO. MDA has been a leader and teacher and it's been about TEAM since day one! Then whadda ya know the players have respnoded and look much better. Whether they win every night isn't the main point, it's how they play the game and the progress they show as individuals and as a team.

Good Coaching, a different core(franchise Marbs and Curry not playing), players running out of options, juice cards given to coaches, getting rid of malcontents(Francis, rose etc), new leadership Duhon etc(instead of Marbs, Zach and Curry). A lot is changing. It's not the coaching that changed, it is the culture that is changing. It's still a long haul ahead for Mike, but the united front by management in the Marbury situation is huge. It's all connected. The question of talent has never been an issue.

soon enough i'll be patting myself on the back for the change this team's mindset would undergo once Marbury was gone.
