Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by PresIke: Well, I wonder if his ankle is really 100%, but it is curious. I don't think someone's play can drop off that quickly if there is not something going on. He still shot 6-10 last night, but I suspect the ankle may be hurting other aspects of his game that are dependent upon his athletic ability, such as rebounding. Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

Posted by PresIke: I don't think Lee's renegotiation is going to matter when the time comes. His numbers are either down or up. His rebounds are down so far, he's scoring about his norm and for some reason so far he's only shooting 60% from the line. I think it has a lot to do with the offensive spread. We no longer have just four guys putting up the numbers on a given night. Now we have double that. In other words, no one is leading this team and if you want to put a label on it, then Nate is probably the leading candidate. But on the other hand, Lee's assists and steals are up. And that's due to the uptempo game we are now running. So I can see Lee ending up taking a mediocre contract at best. I think it was a good move for Walsh not to resign them and wait and see. Unless Lee can put up better numbers, then he cannot demand a huge contract and LOL if he wants to go somewhere else. Lee is a good contributor in this system. And that's what this team is going to be about. Surround that kind of team around a guy like Lebron and you have a very, very good team in two years. So it's not just about making the contracts and money good, it's also about putting together something that you build something else around. I'll never trust this' team again.

Posted by PresIke:Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by PresIke: Could be but Lee did not have a good game at all last night. Stats lie many times. He shot 6-10 but most of the time it was because Jamison or McGee rotated off him in the post to cover the hot shooting from the guards or he shot from the outside when Randolph was doubled in the post. McGee outplayed him badly even when McGee was missing dunks and letting rebounds go out of bounds. ![]() I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

The reality of that draft is that every player picked after 20 was rated higher than Balkman prior to the draft. The rumor that Phoenix wanted Balkman was rebutted verbally by MDA and again when he took over coaching the Knicks and Balkman was traded for a future second round pick.

Posted by CrushAlot: the reality is that everyone on this board that questioned that pick wanted the Knicks to take Marcus Williams & he ended up being garbage himself... i think we woulda lost out w/either pick we made... at least Balk had a chance to fill a role we were in need of at the time... Marcus Williams woulda been another Anthony Roberson for us if we'd have drafted him cuz there's no way he woulda won playing time over Marbs, Jamal or Nate.
