I say let him do it. We may as well. He obviously doesn't serve any purpose with the Knicks.

No offense taken (anymore)
But I hope you understand that doing things differently on his part would have been a capitulation to pressure, or allowing himself to be held hostage by the situation.

I agree. Here is the thing. He is damned either way now. If he brings back Marbury he is still screwed.
My mistake, but I was trying to find a relevance for your nitpick over D's statement. It was just a line to let them know the situation has been decided and it's not going to change in the foreseeable future. Do you really think the scenario would be significantly different if he said it in a different way? I don't.

I think in his head D'Antoni believes he can tell the media to basically shut up and there is no story because the situation has been decided as you point out.

I really don't think he understands the nature of this town's press. It's rough even when things are good and it is the toughest place to be bad, which we are. I observed a lack of skin thickness from him last season in Phoenix with a much easier press situation. Even Parcells had a tough time here with the Jets. And Parcells knows this town like few coaches, and he has one of the biggest juice cards in all of coaching.

I don't know if he's thick or thin skinned, but I don't think he cares. As much as any other coach in this league, he knows what he wants and he believes in his approach. IMO, he's obsessing about basketball and not the media, and that's the way I like it.

Meanwhile, I for one think he's great with the media.

Dam. I guess he has to use all that energy from working out in the mountains for something. Soon Pus Head will be interrupting gym class at his former JS to get run.

And then in kindergarden. He will be finally at the same IQ level with other players.

This whole situation is not on Marbury. Walsh should have resolved this beforehand. Marbury came in ready to play and all of a sudden MDA does not want to play him. Either cut the guy, tell him to go home and not attend the games, or play him.
Trust the Process

So they did "tell him to go home". End of story.

Dolan refuses to buy him out at full value, u can't tell a guy to just go home & stay away from the team w/o getting the Player's Union involved i'm pretty sure, & MDA refuses to play him... what's the problem right now anyways? Duhon's playing very well as the PG & no one misses Marbury at all other than his leftover fans & relatives that attend the games... no need to do anything about him right now... the team's playing well & they've already moved on w/o him.

When the team wins, the Marbury distraction is so trivial. The key will be how they handle it if we go on a losing streak.
