Joe Alexander has 10 total minutes in 5 games including 3 DNPs. Eric Gordon is averaging 5.5 minutes a game. Danilo didn't play all summer and missed training camp and every preseason game. D'Antoni says he's not physically ready (link above). When he's ready, he'll play.

+1... i would love to see Gallo getting Malik's minutes whether he's ready or not but i have to trust a guy who knows a ton more about how to coach a team than i do to decide when is the right time for him to get playing time... til then i can be patient.

Thompson rush eratic? The guy is awesome. Do you follow basketball? CDR a second round pick has better numbers. So does B.Lopez and Ryan Anderson. Do you follow basketball? Where does that come from. You need to be able to make a point if you are going to say something like that. Don't throw a guy who is averaging 12 and 8 is being mentioned as rookie of the year in your argument. You are talking about rookies. They are going to be erratic but almost all of the guys you have mentioned have looked awesome. Come on man. I want the Knicks to do well but they dropped the ball on this pick and there are alot of guys picked later in the draft who look alot better than Gallo at this point. Passion is fine but don't let it cloud your objectivity.

No, he was right. Either you don't know basketball, hated the pick from the beginning, or simply are one of those fa0r-weather people when it comes to players (aka Gallo has a good game - OMG mad nice, Gallo struggles - OMG bust).

The guy did not play for 3 months prior to the start of the season. Everyone in the league is ahead of him in conditioning, even Jerome. He's going to need some time to get into better shape. Add in the fact that he is 20 years old from Europe. The transition will not happen overnight. It takes years for players to develop. Either have some patience or stop watching the team because you will go insane before 2010 comes around.

Totally agree with you.

I disagree. When you win 23 games you don't draft someone who you hope develops with your first significant lottery pick in years. You pick a guy who can make an impact. The 2008 draft was one of the deepest drafts in years possibly in the history of the draft and the Knicks messed up. Gallinari is 19 and has a back injury that has not allowed him to play for over 3 months. MDA said today that he brought him back too soon. There is speculation that he was brought back because the press was so negative about the pick and that it was being suggested in the media that the 6th pick in the draft go to the NBADL. The Knicks won 23 games last year and they have an injured out of the rotation rookie who got some people excited because for 18-20 minutes he looked good against journey men and rookies before getting hurt for more than 1/4 of the year.

Read the article, D'Antoni felt he brought back to soon as in he didnt have the proper conditioning to be playing yet, not because of his injury.

Forgive me, TMS. I don't understand this logic from D'Antoni and Walsh. Unless they are going to resign Malik or trade him there is no reason to play him or for that matter keep him on the roster. I can't believe one of those Knick fans didn't put D'Antoni under citizen arrest for letting Malik get into the game while Ewing Jr. was sitting in the stands.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

ur forgiven bro... no need for formalities.

yeah, i mean it does make me scratch my head but like i said i gotta believe MDA has a plan in place of how he wants to develop this team... i just hope that faith isn't betrayed the same way Isiah & LB did.

Every player develops at their own pace. Some take 2-3 years to begin to show their skills and some shine from the get go. Some even shine years 1 and 2 and then fall off the face of the earth. Why we are judging a guy 4 games into his career is amazing to me.
I just hope that people will like me

ironic that Marc Gasol is ranked 3rd overall above the #2 overall pick in the draft, Beasely when just about everyone of you were saying MEM got garbage back in that Pau Gasol trade.
