Masterplan, I don't care about what the press says in any way. However, D'Antoni's naivete is amusing.

So who is starting the official dead horse thread?

Walsh and D'Antoni understand the situation very well. They know the fans need entertainment, and are unlikely to find it by watching the team play basketball, so they have once again turned to the most entertaining Knick - Stephon Marbury - to save the season.

This is why Marbury is the heart and soul of this franchise.

What the hell is Walsh doing. It doesn't seem like a great management move at all. He has the power to end the circus like atmosphere in msg but he doesn't. This is already starting to go bad. I don't necessarily think that I can trust Walsh or D'antoni right now.

Does he have the power? Why do you think so?

*Cues up final scene from the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"

'cause, this is what this stupidity has come to, a scene of three idiots trying to intimidate each other during about 45 minutes of the same monotonous sound (the media, fans, etc) in the background until someone finally has enough.

Walsh has already emptied Mike's gun and is going to just shoot Marbury down after 45 games of this garbage.

Then he's going to tell Mike to shut up and get on with coaching.

********************

What I don't like here is now it IS a standoff. Will Marbury crack under Walsh/DAtoni pressure as if that would force Marbury to take a pay cut to get out of town? Will Walsh give in to DAntoni's ridiculous power play and waive him thus undermining himself and his entire authority in the process? Will Mike blink in the face of his GM and play Marbury to shut everyone up?

WOW...talk about an everyone loses and that's why nobody will blink for a LONG time scenario!

Know who DOES lose? We the fans, the players who want to move on, the Knicks franchise as a whole.

All over this garbage?

Ya know?

Sad....

No, the failure is on DAntoni to realize this isn't Phoenix and that the issue would go away because HE SAID ITS OVER. He's an idiot for starting this and he put Walsh in a terrible position.

Walsh is a moron for not doing away with Marbury - and his stupid I dont buy anyone out - PRIDE of doom - over the summer.

If either of these guys thinks the fans and media will just forget about this they're idiotic. If anyone thinks Marbury will stay silent or will slip up enough to have his contract voided or a lower buyout forced they're not thinking clearly at all.

To be honest, this is stupidity at it's highest, and ONCE AGAIN, we're a circus, and ONCE AGAIN you can bet the league will eventually get involved and have to tell the damn Knicks HOW TO HANDLE THINGS AND TO DO IT NOW.

This is pathetic...indefensible, I don't care what anyone thinks of Marbury or how much they are into Walsh or Mike D. This is a disgraceful way to do business and nobody wins.

This is funny. Irrelevant player is fighting with irrelevant organization to make it relevant joke again. Classic.

Looks like Marbury is costing the Knicks ANOTHER cool mil.

Steph sits out ticket sales

If Knicks season-ticket sales are down at the Garden, the blame falls squarely on Stephon Marbury's shoulders. Or make that his wallet.

The franchise lost its No.1 customer when Marbury declined to renew his season subscriptions for 2008-09. Marbury told the Daily News that he had spent nearly $1 million annually on Knicks tickets.

Marbury purchased countless season tickets for family and friends, including four prime seats along the baseline adjacent to the visiting team's bench.

Those four tickets alone cost him approximately $300,000 for 41 regular-season games and three in the preseason. Marbury's family often sat in those seats, including his youngest son Stephon Jr., who last year nearly ran onto the court during a game when he spotted his father.

Marbury wouldn't say why he declined to renew but it probably had something to do with the fact that he believed he would be traded or released.

Seriously I don't see the point in all of the ink and e-ink being wasted on Marbury.

those figures are obviously inaccurate judging from all his friends & family that were chanting his name the past few days.
