Forget the plan, the coach and the GM are not in agreement of how to execute the plan! Read it and weep.

Read it and weep? You sound like you enjoy this.

PS:
For good measure, Walsh said there was no rift between him and D’Antoni. They’re on the same page.

“I back my coach,” Walsh said. “And I believe in my coach. Right now, I’m just trying to see if we can make a workable situation out of this, and I think we can. I’m going to continue to try.”

Indiana isn't making a big deal about Tinsley being banished. In NY we make mountains out of mole hills. Last year, and the year before the media absolutely obliterated Marbury. Called for his head, wanted him banished from NY, etc. Now we got a coach in here who is actually dong what most people wanted, and now its his fault. Only in NY and only NY fans....

For real.

i think it's b/c knicks fans thought the drama would finally be over. yet it isn't. they could easily cut marbury tomorrow and it would all end, but it doesn't look like that's the case. obviously, this should've been addressed before the season, but d'antoni deactivated him before friday's game. walsh knew he was going to do it (at least i hope he did), so why has this extended past the weekend and why is walsh talking like he's not aware of the situation? combine this with the ewing, jr. snafu and what exactly has changed?

I can't control what tone you hear in your head when you read my posts, and does it matter if I enjoy it or not? I'm talking about reality.

the timeline as we know it...

- walsh says everyone gets a clean slate
- walsh asks steph to come into camp in great shape and compete for the starting job
- steph comes into camp in shape
- d'antoni names duhon starter right away
- steph plays all of preseason, about 20 mins a game
- season starts and steph is dnp-cd
- 2 days later he is inactive
- walsh says he doesn't know why steph was benched

the new york knicks - where disfunctionality happens...

as earl says...the knicks know drama. imagine they won 23, 33, and 23 and didn't have the drama - they would just be the worst team of all time. at least with the drama, they are entertaining...

The team is in total disarray. It's pretty obvious. I find it easier to accept it and try to think of ways they can get better than to be in total denial.

LIke I said, D'Antoni started something that might backfire. Now Marbury once again may be in charge of making a coach's life a living hell. I hope' they cut him, because this would just be disastrous! I told you, this guy is manipulative. Walsh may follow through on his fiscal responsibility, tighten that little belt of his after all, at a very key moment. D'Antoni may get raped and run out of town before the season ends. Let's hope not.

Good Gosh! We may have to drag it out after all.
I'll never trust this' team again.

What did Marbury do this season besides show up in shape and say all the right things? We can blame him for a lot of thing, but this little drama is not at his feet.

D'Antoni should have took Oohah's signature advice.

And here I thought Walsh was going to be on the hot seat.

For the first time Marbury is in the right. That's even worse then I could imagine. I'm afraid D stepped right into a giant pile of dog ****.

throw the jaded presumptions and expectations of Steph out and it is clear D'Antoni is the one who failed the teams and fans in this particular situation.

I wonder if the owner, players and GM were all chanting "We want Steph" too? I guess Mike D' can curse them out too.

I don't see it that way at all. Best I could tell, most fans wanted Steph gone before the season started, as did the team. Remember the reports that the teammates were visibly uncomfortable when he arrived?

Walsh failed to rid the team of him, and now he's failing to back his coach's decision to do the closest thing to it. Walsh is the one with the rule that he doesn't do buyouts - a rule that is inappropriate here - and Steph, the coach and the fans are held hostage by it.

One thing I thought for sure was that Walsh wasn't a guy who'd preside over a circus, but then I remembered that he's the one who presided over the meelee in Auburn Hills, and he let mismatched personalities fester far longer than he ought in Indy.

The coach and teammates don't want Steph, but Walsh is too stuck in his was to free the club from the ties that bind them - Isiah included. We are on Walsh time now, so sit back and fester.

Short of making this into a bigger deal, this is what I was trying to say yesterday about his aura and how it's annoying the team.

I know. You get it, I get it, the team gets it, D'Antoni gets it, the media gets it, the fans get it. We get it.

We should have been done with this sap years ago. Instead of a main event we've turned him into a Coney Island freak show, and cheaped the franchise in the process. But so long as we can still charge a $1 for "a peek at the freak" were gonna keep the show alive.

I don't buy the premise everybody wants him gone. Crawford Q and Malik probably. Guys like Chandler and Nate looked very comfortable out there with Steph this preseason. Even Duhon looked passable playing with Steph.

Mike is a fool for taking the job if he hated the thought of coaching Steph that much. He compounded it further by running him all tc and pre-season in the spot he ran him.

No team in the NCAA's let alone the League respects or fears a Duhon Crawford Mardy Nate Roberson backcourt rotation. You can cheat off those guys all day and win that gamble 70% of the time. Steph's presence at the least keeps defense honest and if he isn't in me-bury mode makes the game a whole lot easier for everyone else.

Walsh may have been asleep at the wheel with this whole Steph thing and now he is talking like he is shocked by what has transpired.

Then again when NY got blown out in the pre-season his was response to the media was "we played like ****!" and not be patient we're evaluating whose a part of the future

Something tells me MDA didn't get 6 mill a year to throw a season away proving whose boss to Steph and those 2 aren't on the same page regarding no. 3
