Collins is worthless my friend and who exactly are your sources? You aren't exactly Alan Hahn.

Well he's more reliable than Mark Berman right off the bat.

LOL. Who isn't? Still, saying Mardy Collins can get traded for anything kills your credibility.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

At this point just get it done! We will get killed this year if we can't get someone to fill that defensive presence in the frontcourt. Sean isn't a guy you can be sure will get it, but beggars can't be choosey. He does what we need. BLOCK SHOTS! That single move would make a huge difference in how this team defends and might just be worth a few more wins this year.

The Nets don't have to keep Collins so he does not have an effect on their 2010 cap. Williams has tremendous potential is an awesome shot blocker but also is troubled. He would be a great pick up for the Knicks and has the type of game that seems to suit what D'Antoni wants. It is a no risk move that could really benefit the Knicks.

First of all, if we make a trade with NJ for a big, Josh Boone and Ryan Anderson are the guys I'm interested in. How 'bout we just cut Steph and be done with it, grab Justin Williams for the minimum and keep and develop Collins. There's more to this whole Steph thing obviously, but if you believe at least part of what D'Antoni's saying he wants to develop Collins - that's why Steph's not playing. Bottom line is I wouldn't trade anything for Sean Williams when Justin Williams is available right now for nothing. They're the same player..

Buy-out or waive Marbury. Lee straight up or Lee and a second rounder for Ryan Anderson and Douglas-Roberts. Then grab either Justin Williams or Pat Ewing Jr. for the minimum for the last spot. 3 good moves that would help us. The roster would be at 15.

Why would the Nets want Lee? He serves no purpose for the Nets. Lee can rebound and is a crappy shooter outside 5 feet. Boone gives you that and you want them to throw in Douglas-Roberts too come on. You forget they want nothing to do with resigning Lee next year because they are looking to get set for 2010.

The love for Lee is out of control. When I see Lee I see a decent player but thats it.

Hey I agree with you but who knows what the Nets might be thinking. They already blew this Jefferson for Yi trade. I mean why trade a legit all-star like Richard Jefferson? Vince/Jefferson was one of the better 1,2 combos in the game, not as good obviously, but as close to Jordan/Pippen as you're gonna get. Meanwhile, they get an average player back in Bobby Simmons, and even though it's early & he's playing a little better lately, Yi's been a big disappointment so far for them garnering the daily frustration of Frank and his fellow players. Bottom line with Vince in place that's a trade you don't make... They may feel that Lee's now got some experience under his belt and has the type of hustle, savvy and intangibles to help elevate that team to the next level. Who knows. And Vinsanity's not getting any younger and the skills aren't what they once were. So it's safe to say the window's closing for Vince - it's only natural. Again, if I were Thorn/Kiki I'd stand pat with my young guys and I'd continue to develop the youth while also trying to maintain being competitve now. But you can argue that if the Knicks ever came calling offering a Lee package, they might be interested for these reasons, not to mention you usually trade from an area of strength and they certainly have a plethora of big men at the moment.

I like Williams in college. Watched plenty of BC games and I was hoping that this guy changed his habits. But this guy appears to be the same immature, knucklehead that got banned from his team by his coach and vote by his teammates.

No doubt about his talent but he is still a knucklehead. There is a reason why Frank has him buried on the bench.

If we traded Balkman for certain issues, than there is no way we'll bring on Sean Williams.

Oh, so he is the Nets version of Marbury? No thanks...

The original topic - Collins + 2nd rounder for Sean - works well for us. We need the inside Big man.

oh yeah I forgot, bloggers can't have sources close to the nets.

nevermind.

LOL

don't mind him dude... he's got his 19 yo hormones going all nuts on him... i would make a trade for Sean Will in a heartbeat... God only knows how badly this franchise is sorely in need of a shotblocking presence.

Hey, at least Williams knows to pass to his left, unlike certain members on this board. Where are your manners?

i'm worried it's an adverse selection situation for us, though. if the nets are trying to dump him, it should tip us off that something's wrong with the kid (remember the concerns that made him slip to the nets in the first place). if he's any good/sane, the nets should have use for him and will at least want more value than we can give them.

then again, the nets do have a glut of interchangeable bigs. gotta wonder why williams is the one on the outs though.

There probably is some problem with him. But we want to dump Eddie because there is a problem.
We want to dump Marbury because there is a problem.
We want to dump Zach because people think there is a problem, but there isn't. But maybe in the future.

So who knows what the problem is, if there really is one. Maybe they just have more options at the 4 since their trade for Yi and the 5 after drafting Brook Lopez. Sean Williams is more talented than Mardy plus a 2nd rounder, so it is very much worth looking into, IMO.
