we have been talking about it but Isiah and company have been in a win-now mode for the last 3 years.
The truth is we have been in limbo mode for 7 years, not win now or develop mode. And we are still in limbo mode now.
Starting Q, Lee, Randolph, Duhon, and Crawford doesn't = development. They are all veterans.
I say if we are going into develop mode then do it for real. I don't think that is what we are witnessing. Duhon isn't the future, play Robinson as a starter. Q isn't the future, start Chandler. Let Galinari have his trial by fire.

that's a bunch of silliness and you know it.

No, you are fooling yourself and you know it. And that was a poor answer.
Explain to me how starting Crawford, Duhon, Q, Randolph, Lee, or Jeffries and playing them big minutes is anything resembling a rebuild.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

you don't start the JV squad just cause the varsity team sucks. gotta make sure the young guys earn their spots, fully learn the offense and defense. You want the young guys hungry and lean and playing 100% all the time. You hand them the starting position and you get Curry all over again - a guy who thinks he can come into camp in so-so shape and who plays lackadaisically and who doesn't do the little things that help win a game.
But oohah, you can start you JV squad and call it rebuilding if you want.
I suspect by the end of the year Chandler will start and Gallo will have heavy minutes.
man, this ain't rocket science.

Okay, so now Mike's a genius not playing Marbury and it's intentional so we tank our way to 15 wins and a certified 1st round pick?
That's not true nor realistic.
This team plain stinks. Mike D hates Marbury as does Dolan and that's one reason he's sitting. Tanking doesn't certify you the #1 pick. Ask the Bulls who had a BETTER record than us and landed Derrick Rose.
If this is what you guys believe than that's cool but none of it is true.
(On Multiple Forums Mind You!:::) After we beat Miami too many people were talking about how much better we look than last year. After signing Duhon and MikeD it was all about culture change and playing under a good coach and playing hard and winning as many games as possible to set a new standard.
Now we're 1-2 and it's we're tanking on purpose? Now Mike D is some genius who is confusing these players into chucking selfishly to 30% shooting?
Sorry, not biting on that POV, for it's not true at all.
What happens if we blow out the Bobcats? 7SOL is suddenly genius coaching again and we're 2-2 and that's 41-41 over a season and that's the playoffs and Crawful is the best 2G in the league again?
Man, the bi-polar attitude of the Knick fan base game to game has grown to absurd lengths...
Win: We're finals bound. Lose: MikeD and Walsh are genius for tanking for what is sure to be the best franchise player to ever enter the draft!
*head spins*
I honestly thought when I saw the first 5 games that we could go 4-1 and we are already 1-2. But My factoring equated Marbury and Curry as part of the team. Even a 30 win team should beat Milwaukee and Charlotte at home--right isnt that the percentage play? They better play with a sense of urgency Tuesday or this thing will crumble fast. All it takes is a 2-7 start and that is it.

So did Marbury earn his spot with the "Clean Slate" he was giving?

nope. Again, what do you gain long term by playing and keeping Marbury?

Martin, there is nothing long term about D'Antoni's system Martin without Nash and Amare. All you need to know about those long term goals is look at his wonderful work in Denver for that one year and that first year in Phoenix. One thing I noticed is that non-MSG outlets have been bringing up his record without Nash more and more.
MDA won many a championship over in Europe with the same philosophy. Don't know if the Knicks have enough of the parts to run the system with the current roster, but have you really come to a conclusion 3 games in?
I like Pharzone, but I'm pretty sure he made that conclusion the day the Knicks signed MDA
You can't call a coach overrated for four years because of his players and then claim he a basketball genius because he is hired by your team. But is not just me there are legit people in the NBA who say the same thing about him. Like I said this team needs Nash, Amare and hell grab Marion too and we will win regular season games and go far in the playoffs until they run into a defensive team like the Celtics.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Wait -- to actually answer what you wrote above. Now you are questioning the young guys hunger? how about the hunger of Crawford etc.? So playing the youngsters now will damage their hunger? huh? But playing them behind the same old crap will keep them hungry? That make sense to you?
How are they actually evaluated? Why wait until the end of the season? And how do you expect them to develop if they don't get the minutes?
Magic?

Sorry, I have to get to work so the quick answer is for the most part any minutes played by Duhon or Crawford should be going to the young cats, ditto for Q, and ditto for Randolph unless they are trying to pump and trade him.
