I hate to break it to you guys but you are way over hyping Lee.

I've been trying to break it to them for several years, but the message hasn't taken hold. Lee is a pretty good role player with some pretty big limitations. That is what he is.

oohah

Lee supporters already know that Oohah.

Not all of them. Some of them want to "lock him up" and pay him like Elton Brand.

oohah

Can you ever forgive me? I was just joking about that.

I forgive you. However, you're not the only one I was talking about. The Lee love in our particular group of fans has been completely out of step with reality. I like Lee, I really do, but I think he is good bench talent, or a starter with the right pieces around him to cover his pretty apparent weaknesses. We don't have those pieces.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Walsh made a great decision not extending him. We should trade him ASAP in a package with Jamal or something and get a half decent player in return.
The best thing we could do is trade Lee and Big Game and Curry for Al Harrington and change.

If we keep Lee, he deserves no more than a Maxiell type deal - 20 mil over 4 years.

Its really sad that after all this years of losing, the best we have in terms of the future is Chandler, Lee, Nate and presumably Gallinari when guys like Granger, Bynum, Stoudamire have been available to us. It would at least make this season interesting.
I wonder what good will this season be if practically no player or only two are keepers...

And that's why he's starting, plus he's a veteran. Chandler has to shoot his way out to. He'll get there.

Hey get this, Channing Frye still' hasn't reached his potential. We really know how to pick em don't we?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Ooooh! You got me on the Frye. However, I think Frye would do a better job in the middle than anyone we have now and he would be good in this system.

If it isn't bad picks, then it's bad timing. These Knicks have my full support though, no matter what. I took me two and a half years before I finally turned on Isiah. Sometimes you just gotta give it a chance. We'll see LOL.

I tend to agree. To me, Lee is a very good role player and hard worker, on the Jason Maxiell, Paul Milsap level. For what's expected out of a PF, Josh Boone might even be better. Heck, you can make a very good case that NJ rookie Ryan Anderson develops into a much better, more complete player than Lee. A very good reserve big forward off the bench for a good team with smarts and a few intangibles, that's what he is. Mark my words, when the time comes, Lee's agent is gonna be asking for more than triple or quadruple what Maxiell got. He's gonna give you some very good games along the way that'll cloud your judgement and make it tough, but in the end of the day, there's no way you give this guy an Andrew Bynum deal, let alone the 80+ million his crazy agent undoubtedly asks for. That type of PF upside just isn't there... Sad to say (and I hate saying it because I love the guy), but it's true. He should be shopped hard and if something makes sense (hopefully we can get a younger player, still near the beginning of his rookie contract so 2010 free agency isn't effected--a younger guy, maybe not as NBA ready but with possibly even more upside), you pull the trigger and don't look back. Ideal scenario for the Knicks - if Lee remains with us, he needs to be coming off the bench filling in for much more complete frontcourt players that we hopefully acquire eventually. That's the reality of it, only I don't see Lee ever accepting that role or that type of money. In the meantime, we don't have anything close to the type of frontcourt we need to compete, hence he gets the expanded role for the Knicks for now. He's got value - we could've got OJ Mayo for this guy until he and his agent nixed it. Let's see what happens...

How can this team have your support. We are three games into the season and they have put forth 2 sub par efforts already. Two. What the f is wrong with these guys. They created the illusion in the first couple of preseason games that we might actually build players values.

I hate Eddy Curry, but do we have to destroy all his value. We are trying to get under the cap here, I am beginning to think maybe we do whatever we can to get rid of Eddy and Zach. Considering we are going to be a lottery disaster no matter what there is no reason to keep these guys.

I guess we have to just hope Gallo and Chandler turn into studs and give up our assets because isiah couldn't put together a winning high school team.

what has Eddy Curry done in your mind to deserve playing time at all?

Come in shape? Play defense? Block out? Know what to do in the offense? Rebound? Play with energy? Not create an offensive foul every time he gets the ball?

What? Let me know.

Let's say we have Chandler, Lee, Gallinari and Nate when Lebron time comes around. I think that would possibly be a good core of guys to surround him with for starters. And by that time, many of these bad contracts will be gone and we will have a few other good players on this team by then.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I"m starting to believe that maybe Curry won't get any better than this. Maybe his body can't even take good conditioning or the kind that gets a player in good shape.

it takes motivation. Proper diet. He can do it, but does he WANT to do it? No.

It has nothing to do with ZR. I just think that Isiah picked this kid, he looks good, then he gives him a raw deal by not properly utilizing him in order to feature the literal waste of space Eddy Corny.

Now Frye is buried behind better players, and you know what? He is the lucky one!

Frye's best chance to develop was under LB. He featured him on the high blocks where he belongs.

I only brought up Slack because you said Frye would be better in this system than anyone on this team and I know in the past you've been pretty big on Z.

I like your analogy, but don't you mean the opposite? This is kind of a team of guppies swimming in the shark tank.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
