Hey guys, i'm new to this site. I have always been a knick geek growing up. Although i'm still in high school, I'd like to think I know a little something about basketball. I'm currently a junior and i was on my jv basketball team for psal. Unfortunately, i was suspended from my school and I can't play varsity this year. I have browsed around this website for quite a while and i found it interesting with what other knick fans have to say. Unlike some of you posters, I'm a Marbury fan and he is my favorite player. Although most of you guys want him gone, I don't believe that he is the problem to this Knicks team. I find it quite intriguing how scrubs like Malik Rose, with all his useless tricks, and inexperienced guards like Mardy Collins and Anthony Roberson are getting playing time over than Marbury.

Maybe because I am a Marbury fan, Coach D's decisions in the 4th quarter pissed me off. Playing on a team myself, although it isn't professional basketball, i know that a team effort is much more important than individual talent. However, when the team is up by 20+ points, and your most talented player is being called out by fans in the audience, but still ends up rotting in the end of the pine, that is some straight bull****.

Maybe perhaps the days of Marbury as a Knick is gone, but i can say that he didn't let me down as a fan. Whenever i came to the garden, i could always expect a good showing from Steph. Most people find this man ignorant and ****y, which he probably is, he does have compassion for the people. This was a man who donated at least $500 grand to the Hurricane Katrina fund and a man who gave Leonardo Barbosa a brand new Lexus when Barbosa just came into the league. This man even spends time with the less fortunate people and donates part of his profit from his sneaker-line.

If Marbury goes, it is only rightly so because his talent doesn't deserve to rot at the end of the bench.

Here is the door. Please see yourself out.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

first off welcome to the boards!

i agree he's always played the game hard whenever he's been on the court but his off the court distractions have really brought a ton of negative publicity to this franchise over the years... i don't understand how any Knicks fan can confidently say that he's done nothing to deserve the fans' ire or disdain... he's done plenty... ur right, his talent doesn't deserve to rot on the end of the bench... he doesn't deserve to wear that Knicks' uniform either... he needs to go... & this has nothing to do w/his charitable contributions, for which he's been given plenty of praise on this forum & others... everyone acknowledges the fact that he's a caring human being for people less fortunate than he is... i give him mad props for that... we're talking about the Knicks related issues here, not what Marbury chooses to do in his private life w/his money.

I don't care about anything but winning games, david lee is ridiculous, absolutely embarassing himself on the defensive end. You guys were just calling to waive Mardy and JJ yet you ok with SM on the bench. MDA will get run the hell out of NY quicker then IT and LB if he continues with this system that doesn't add up to wins, CHRIS DUHON may have been a winner in college, so was half the league, wtf does that mean. He sucks, he's a career back up and no one but MDA offered him a starting spot which is the only reason he came here. Again Im no SM advocate, but the benching is personal, and stephs response is personal.

He's saying uh..uh, I know what i did with LB was unproffesional, and I was an idiot for what I did with IT last year by skiping out on my teammates , but this time around Im just going to play it out and see what happens. You ask me to do whats right and i did it, now this is what i get in return. Steph is in his 30's the maturity level is different, wtf is MDA trying to prove, or start, or testing (giny pig style). No way do I put Mardy collins and a bad back rookie in front of an all star pg, unless im trying to prove a point....Suckers.

Loosing by 30 points To the sixers primarly in the paint, when you you got 50 million dollars on the bench. Curry is no shot blocker, and james isn't either, but how in the world are you going to get anything for them if there in street cloths night in and night out. Ha..ha..ha DOLAN my dear mates. We are doom for the forseeable future

This is a pretty good post. I don't agree with some of it, but I totally agree with this part: "I don't care about anything but winning games".

I am still waiting until we have another coach is is concentrating on winning games, not putting people in their places or winning hearts and minds with philosophy.

Try to win games and all the other stuff works itself out.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

what Steph's really saying is "yeah, i'm gonna pretend to act like a professional & see if i can fool some fans into thinking i've really changed my ways... it's the only way i can lead them all to the light."

releasing Marbs & signing PEJ would be the best thing for the Knicks to do from a PR perspective right now... then maybe they could finally get out from under that dark cloud that's been hovering over this team for the past 4 years.

If you're going to speak theoretically, then you also have to say that it would get rid of an even darker cloud, and that's the curse of the Ewing. A move like this would kill two birds with one stone.

With that being said, I honestly don't see why people are getting bent out of shape about this. Who cares about Stephon? As long as he's not playing and we're showing that he'll by off the team by at most a year, then we should be THRILLED!

Mike D'Antoni is doing fine. It's this f'ed up roster that Isiah left us with, that sucks.

bro, believe me i'm thrilled to see Marbury deactivated... next thing to happen is him being bought out or traded, it's only a matter of time... things are progressing just as i would have hoped they would this year (except for the Roberson thing, but whatever, i'm not losing sleep over that one)... when this team is allowed to gel w/o the constant distraction that Marbury provided whether due to his own fault or not, they'll be much better off.
